Question Bruising question

I know that I probably have had my quota of questions this week, but it has been quite a week of changes so I hope that you all bear with me. Anyone out there that has had Laporoscopic GB experience a lot of bruising? I have noticed that on my left side all the way down into my pelvic area is black and blue. Didnt know that this was normal...maybe it isnt. So let me know

Thank you,
Kate

Thumbs down Bruising

I had a huge bruise on my left side also. In fact I am 6 months out, and it just went away completely about a month ago. It hurt so bad when I took a shower, because of how bruised I was. Dr. Callery told me "only the really nice one's bruise that much" I guess he was trying to be nice. I don't know if it's a normal thing or not, but I sure know how you feel sister.

Smile It's Normal

Kate,

I had lap and I really hurt in that same exact spot. Dr. Callery told me that this is where he sew's all kids of stuff to the abdominal wall, therefore it will be more sore than than the other incisions.

Don't worry...mine went away within a couple of months.

Jeanie's went away just recently though. Everyone is a little different. I wish I could show you my pics just after surgery and my pics for now. You'll be amazed!!!

I bruised real easily for a few months post op. I would get huge, deep purple brusises from very minor bumps. No one could explain why. Whatever caused it, I just bruise normally now.

Thumbs up Bruising

Also remember, that we were on blood thinners in the hospital, which cause bruising as well. I was constantly bruising after surgery even in places where I wasn't effected directly by surgery. I would bruise by bumping into a wall or such.. so don't fret it is perfectly normal. Of course it is perfectly normal for me to have bruises all over anyway.. as I am the worlds biggest clutz..
