Default Miserable today, maybe I over did it..

Hello all, I just need to take a mintue a vent a little bit. I feel like crap today, have all day. I woke up exhausted, sore and just feeling icky. Wondering if maybe I over did things yesterday.

Yesterday I thought I could conquer the world, I was out gardening, walking, pulling weeds all that fun stuff. My husband think pulling the weeds (bending over and pulling, cause these were some huge weeds ) that I might have over did and could have hurt something. Don't you think if you weren't suppose to do all these things they would let you know? They didn't limit anything with me.

I have been having a hard time getting in all my water/crystal light today but I have managed to get in all my protein with my shakes. I really don't want to do anything, just sick and rest.

My heart rate has been of a concern for me, it won't go back to the 60's that is where it was 2 weeks before my surgery. They have me on Toprol (50mg) and that seemed to work, but now since my surgery it doesn't want to go down. I take my pulse every now and then & it is always around 100. right now it is 96.

I have no regrets, just not feeling good today and needed to vent. I try to talk to husband and he doesn't understand. I know it will get better and I will have my up and down days, today just happens to be a down one.

Thanks for listening, hope I am not burdening anyone.

Hugs Honey... I'm sending you some serious " stop feeling like crap" vibes!

Just try to relax and be kind to yourself, listen to some nice music and visualize your favorite spot in nature....

Seriously this works for me... I find a quiet place, lay down and close my eyes. The I picture my body startign with the top of my head.... relax the scalp, then I feel my eyes relax and my mouth, the skin on my face etc... all the way down to my toes..... they I picture myself laying beside a stream in a cool covered area with the water flowing the gentle swishing sounds as the water moves over and around the rocks. I'm laying there, the trees providing shade from the burning sun overhead and relax in my favorite natrual place...

it takes practice but when I"m at my crappiest and none of the medications or positive thoughts or anything else under the sun is making me feel better this one does it! sometimes I even fall asleep... which is a huge bonus for me.

Long post to say... hang in there it gets tons better! And be a good girl and stop over-doing it!

Girl,

Yardwork? Please tell me you had a lap? Even so I was told to not lift anything that weighed more than a gallon of milk for 8 weeks. And no pulling type action either. I hope you rested ALL day and will do so tomorrow too. This is major surgery, remember?? ((((HUGS)))))

I know, I have to be more careful. I finally broke down and took some pain medicine last night and that made a world of difference. I try not to take it too much, don't want to become dependent on it, it is good though.

Today I am a little better, woke up to some pain in my calfs, called th ask a nurse and my symptoms don't appear to be clot.. Maybe I slept wrong being in the recliner and then on the loveseat, who knows, going to take a little extra precaution today and elevate legs some.

I may not be drinking all my water through out the day but I do get in at least 3 protein shakes which equals 30g per serving.. This morning I took 1 cup of coffee, 1/3 powder milk and 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein powder, blended all together and had that for breakfast.

I can't believe how tired I get, I thought about going back to work tomorrow (i have a desk job) for 1/2 days, not sure I can handle it yet, plus I enjoying being home. My husband goes back tomorrow, so my little 18 yr old sis is coming to help me, thank goodness she loves (another story).

Better run for now, kids are hollering.. yeah

I think its probably normal to feel like crap this soon after...

As far as the limits. My surgeon and his nurse said they dont place ANY limits on our activities.. to do what we can as soon as we can tolerate it... and that our bodies would let us know what we should do. So, if you are weeding and your body is saying no.. then I would listen to it.. I would probably still do it (cuz Im stubborn).. but just less.. and maybe sit while you do it instead of bending.

HOpe you feel better!

The nurse at the hospital told my hubby many people stop taking the meds too soon because they can "tough it out" but it causes them to feel bad, s they don't drink and they end up dehydrated or walk and they end up with blood clots and a vicious cycle begins... so take the meds until you don't need them anymore, not just because you can tolerate the pain now.....

Geez...Paige is so bossy!
