Smile Ronette's journey.

Home at last

Well as you may know I had Laporscopic GBS on Monday, June 4th. I arrived at the hospital at 6:00, didn't get back into a room until 6:30. Once in the room we discussed all the paperwork and checked all the vitals. My weight on Monday was 303.8 which means I lost 10lbs on my liquid diet. Yeah for me.

I was able to talk to my surgeon before surgery, made sure he had a good nights rest the night before..LOL I was wheeled into the OR and there was about 5 guys in there getting things ready for me and talking. They asked me if I was ready and I told them as ready as I am going to be and that I my life is in their hands and I really didn't feel like dying.. they of course said everything would be o.k

Funny, I was so nervous before hand and then Monday came and I was fine. It was like I just knew this was the right thing to do. No need to worry, everything was going to be fine and sure enough it was.

Surgery started around 8:20 and I was done my 11:45. I remember waking up and asking what time it was (12:30) and that I wanted my husband. I didn't get out of recovery and into my room until 1:30, finally got to see my hubby.

Doctor said things went well, no complications. Had a little bit of a hard time getting my stomach but it wasn't a big deal, just everyone's different anatomy. I go back in 3 weeks for my check up.

I am glad the surgery part is over and now ready for the new life. I am still in alot of pain, I believe that is GAS pain and boy does it suck big time. and very tired. Just taking it easy, trying to walk a little here and there and not over do it. My kids are so happy to have me home, they are wanting mommy to play and pick them up, that is a little hard not to do right now, but that will come in due time.

Time to try and rest some more, need to get rid of some more gas

Thank you all for your support and encouragment following up to my surgery. Not sure what I would have done without all of you. I look forward to sharing my journey with you and for your stories/journey's also. What a wonderful place this is.

Oh and it is so nice finally be able to say I'm a LOSER!!!!

Welcome home and to the losing side! So glad to hear everything went well. Hope your hell week comes and goes in the blink of an eye!

I didn't have any pain from the gas, but I've heard the walking is what helps dissipate it.
