Thank you
Thanks for all your well wishes. So glad to be home. Although today has been a little hectic, I wish the husband would have went to work and left me home by myself..
First day and things seem to be going good. Not having any problems yet... I have been drinking SF carnation instant breakfast since they were out of the protien drink I was suppose to come home on . I have had 3 of those today and about 30 ounces of crystal light, so I should be doing o.k getting in my fluids. I have added powder milk to my carnation drinks so I am hoping that will help with the protien. Of course I had 1/2 a banana and a couple SF popsicles and fudgesicles, could it be I am eating too much?
Also did the treadmill today, so far been on there twice, once for 11 minutes and the second time for 16 minutes. I do get tired out easily from those.
Back to resting, not trying to be super mom, husband took kids to daycare so they will be home in a couple of hours. Can't wait to see them, I sure do miss them.
I guess that is it for now, hope everything is going good for everyone else.
Take care

We found out the more you walk the more you get rid of the gas. I took about three days before the rumbling in our stomach are settled down. Take it easy and enjoy the incredible journey we now find ourselves on.

Welcome home!
So glad that you are home and doing well. I loved reading about the day of your surgery. I am also glad that you mentioned putting milk powder in with your Carnation Instant breakfast. I had not thought of that. Squishy is drinking some protein powder and I think it tastes nasty! Cib works for me and adding the milk powder will add even more protein.
Take Care!
Jane

I add powdered milk to my coffee everytime I drink it now so it boosts my protein. I use probably 1/3 or 1/2 a cup of it in each 16 oz coffee. It makes it takes like Starbucks to me since their coffees are milk based.

Good to be home
I am so glad to hear that your surgery went so well. And I sure know you must be glad to be home. I had my Open RNY on Monday, and got to come home on Wed. It has been great to be home, and wonderful to have the hubby and grandson here to take care of me, but I was glad when they went out to dinner and gave me some time alone. I appreciate all the attention, but I really enjoy the quiet too. My mantra has become sip, walk, rest and so far all is going great. No gas, no nausea, just a lot more soreness than I was expecting. Oh well.. I know that will gradually get better so I cannot complain about a thing. Since our surgery date is the same, I hope you don't mind if I feel especially close to you, and it will be so exciting to go on this journey together.

Not a problem, we can go through this together. I had the lap RNY and boy I am feeling soreness also. Especially today since i accidentally slept on my tummy last night for awhile. I knew I shouldn't have slept in the bed but I was tired of the recliner and thought I could do it, WRONG..
I am surprised that I haven't had any problems keeping anything down, almost makes me wonder if he did the surgery or just went in to cause me pain.
My husband was the first thing I wanted when i woke up, but I had to wait another hour before I could see, boy what a great sight it was.
I too enjoy my quiet time and I enjoy having him around but yesterday I could have slapped him silly. He was working inside the home and between his smart attitude and banging, it about drove me crazy.
Glad to hear things are going well with you. Please take care and if you need anything or just want to talk feel free to PM me anytime.

It's OK not to hurt
Ronette,
It's OK that you're not nauseous, that you're able to keep things down, that you're able to absorb all the liquids you're meant to. They did the surgery... they didn't just knock you out and throw you in the corner for a few hours to collect the insurance money, I swear. Just keep doing what you're doing, girl, it sounds like it's going great. Glad you're home.
