It does get better each day. Try and take it easy, but don't forget to walk and get plenty of fluids in.

Take care and have fun with your Harry Potter Movies..

I was scared about my dog too. She's little and is used to jumping right in my lap whenever she wants. For about four weeks after surgery, I always had a pillow laying on my stomach, even when I went to bed at night. It helped a lot when she decided to jump on top of me.

Walk, rest and sip, buddy.

Welcome home Carl -
Glad to hear all is well. On the subject of [trying] to sleep - I found the flattest pillow I could find and would lie down and tuck the pillow under my belly - that seemed to help a lot - unfortunately, I don't own a recliner - but you might! Rumor has it that can be the most comfortable for the first week or so. Take it easy, get plenty of rest, and don't forget to get up and move around! Welcome my friend.

So glad to hear that you are home and well enough to let us know that you are doing okay!

I was scared too that my cats would jump on my stomach. I was very protective.

Welcome to the loosers bench!

I slept in a recliner, myself. I couldn't sleep on my side for a couple of months after surgery, but that was just me. I know some who slept on thier sides right after surgery and did fine. No warnings, like Dr. C says.. if it hurts, don't do it. LOL

I think you'll be just fine my friend.. take care and heal quick!!!

Carl~

Glad to see ya home and well. I was afraid my kids would jump at me...well my 4 year old at least...the other 2 are old enough to know better. I still sleep with pillows under my side...now it is just by habit.

I slept in a recliner for the first few weeks and found that to be the most comfortable. It was kinda hard because I am a side sleeper and for the longest time I could not sleep on my side. Boy, did my back ache.

Take care and welcome to the loser world!!

Hi Carl,

I was a side sleeper right from the start. In I.C.U. I asked Dr. C. and he said if I was comfortable, than fine. I slept like a baby from that point on.

Glad to hear you doing well!!

I figured out that if I put a pillow under my bell it relieved the tension on the insiscion site and I have been doing good with that. Actually I am now just using part of the blanket under the belly. I don't have full range of movement yet but about 80%.

Default Carl,

80% is good at the stage you're at!
