My doc gave us a binder which guides us through the first 6 months. We also had several nutritional seminars to attend too. I also kept in touch with my doc and he was okay with me progressing faster than the guidelines. I was on soft foods at 3 days, regular foods by 3 weeks.I've seen many other stomach surgery patients on regular foods in a few weeks. I personally believe that staying on a liquid diet for too long causes strictures to occur.
