Talking First "wow" moments

Hi everyone -- I'm now 2 months out from surgery and just in the past week have had my first two "wow!" moments. The first happened one night last week when I was sitting watching some TV...I was scratching my neck and felt this hard bump under the skin, and thought "what the hell??", and then I realized it was my collar bone! I haven't felt a collar bone since I can't remember when! My other wow is that I've achieved my first real milestone, which was to get back to my college graduation weight. I weighed 337 at the time of graduation in 1989, and I hit that weight last weekend (and have actually lost two pounds since then).

I've been a little depressed lately because my weight loss has slowed to a crawl -- I'm now only losing about two pounds a week, which is much less than I had hoped. I posted in another thread that I think the problem is that I'm not eating enough. But, every time I come here and read about other people's positive experiences and read your supportive comments to each other, it makes me remember the positives -- yeah, my weight loss has slowed, but I've still lost 53 pounds in the past few months, and once I'm fully recovered from surgery, I'll feel the positive impact of that in my back, knees, feet, etc. You all are an inspiration to me, so THANKS FOR BEING HERE!

That is so cool I remember I found my tail bone and I had to show it to the doctor because I thought something was wrong with me! When you get down about your your scale not going down just look back and think about how far you have come and think about things you can do that you couldn't do. Have you started to exercise? Start out slow but exercise and you will see a change in time. I am not one to tell someone else to exercise because I am no good at it myself! I have done my jog for 2 nights and I am going to keep it up becaus my scale is STUCK TOO! Congrats on the colar bone!!!

Rhonda welcome to the "I can feel my collar bone family". I think that is what shocked me the most for the longest. It is a true awww moment. Congrats. Rhonda learn to apprecitae the weight you are dropping. I know you may not see it now but the further you get out in your journey you appreciate every pound you drop and not gain. Keep working that tool.

Way to go Rhonda - you are rockin it! 2lbs a week is great - nice and steady and you won't end up with so much loose skin - that's the positive side! Keep it up - you're doing great.
