This isnt the first surgery and this is the same memory form all of them. LOL I knew what to expect.
I tell them to have a shot of SOMETHING for nausea at the ready for when I come to.

Oh man, Gina I'm the same way!! The first time I had surgery I woke up throwing up. Not a pleasant memory so I warned them numerous times about how I react to General Anesthesia. I woke up this time to the nurses yelling at me to lay down and telling me they were getting me something for nausea. Hmmmm....I don't remember why I was sitting up but apparently I told them I was going to get sick.

The first thing I remember is my nurse in recovery putting the morphine pump button in my hand and telling me to push it when I had pain because I could hear myself moaning in pain and I remember pushing the button and then I remember her snatching it very roughly from my hand and it landing on my stomach and I wrenched in pain and her shouting something at me about not letting me use it anymore because my O2 Sat was dropping and I remember thinking........"this nurse is going to hurt me, I've just had major surgery and she's throwing things on my abdomen!" And I remember hearing another nurse telling her that she was gettling another patient and how sorry she was, but she didn't have a choice, and my nurse sighing really loud and I remember thinking...."someone needs to take care of this nurse before she hurts someone. She does not care about her patients". I was actually scared in my state of dilirium. Anyway, she WAS reported after I was awake enough to do so. Apparently, she had a track record of this type of behaviour and the floor nurses consistently urged me strongly to complain so they would have some help at getting her out of there because their patients had not been taken care of when assigned to that nurse. Needless to say, I never want those first memories again after surgery.

My first surgery - extreme pain. All I remember is being in my room and constantly trying to push the magic button. It hurt sooooo bad. That was the lap surgery. Three weeks later when the complications got bad and I needed a second open surgery, I remember my Aunt (who's a preacher) talking to me with my husband telling me I was in ICU. I felt like I had God on my side with her there and first thoughts were between God, her, my hubby, and my excellent surgeon - I was gonna be just fine. I relaxed then and just drifted off and on throughout the rest of the night.

I don't remember the recovery room or the thing down my throat at all. The first thing I remember was when several people were wheeling me into the room and someone telling me that they were going to remove the catheter. There was a little "pop" and it was out. They fussed around for a few minutes, showed me where the morphine pump was, then left me with my family. I made sure to hit the morphine pump cause I DIDN'T want to have any pain - and I really didn't have much. Uncomfortable was more like it.
Not too bad an experience all in all.

I remember being wheeled into the OR and praying that they didn't get me all ready and then turn me out like they did Rachel! I was trying to tell everyone in the OR about Rachel's story when I must have drifted off to La-la Land.
The first thing I remember after waking up was the bad ache in my midriff area and how having dry heaves from the anesthesia wasn't helping the pain. Lee was there and saying I was in ICU and the nurse was there asking about my pain level and shooting some awesome anti-nausea meds in my IV. The nausea was gone in a flash, I was handed my pain pump and I asked for my Chapstick...night, night.

The first thing I remember was trying to get out of bed to puke. The ICU nurse tried to get me to stay and I was arguing with her that the promethizine wasn't working and to get me something stronger. That was indeed a horrible feeling....severe dry heaves for 20 minutes.
