I remember waking up in recovery only begging them to kill me now and end my horrific pain. I absolutely wanted to die when I woke up. I have NEVER felt soooo much agonizing pain in my life. It was worse than when I had to deliver my daughter witout any pain meds. For a brief moment, I really believed I was going to die from the pain. I was terrified because the pain was truly so unbearable, I really wanted to die. Needless to say about 6 hours later I was up and walking and feeling peachy!

Actually now thinking about it and reading some if these I remember the nurse waking me up, and asking me if I had any pain, and I looked at her and said well yeah now that you woke me up I am. She just kind of smiled and said she was going to fix my pain. She did!

How about the last thing you thought before you went under?
They gave me a shot to "relax" me and said they would put me to sleep once I got into the OR. I wanted to see the OR. I wanted to see the people who were going to do it. I fought falling asleep but never made it out of the door of the room. I was really dissapointed I didnt get to see the OR.

Default before?

The last thing I remember before going under...Well that's a bad story. This lovely little nurse came in and put something in my IV, boy was it nice!!! I remember them wheeling me out of the pre-op room and making a left. I 'remember' nothing after that, but I was told all kinds of stuff. I guess I entertained the OR staff, tried to pick up a few of the male techs, sang a few songs, including "Just a Swinging" while they moved me from the bed to the table. I told my surgeon and the Fellow student that working with her that they were "2 of the best people in the world, the only people better than you is that red haired girl with the drugs, where did she go anyway, I love her"!

And they wonder why I never did drugs!

The first thing I remember is coming round in ICU and they had not given me any pain relief I flipped and the first thing to go was my nose drain - right out before they could stop me (temper tantrum or what) - then I floated away on a little pink cloud of morphia.

Recovery room, oxygen mask, Nausea!!!!OMG SOOOO NAUSOUS!, the just the sensation of trying to stay awake and being drug under over and over.

This isnt the first surgery and this is the same memory form all of them. LOL I knew what to expect.

I tell them to have a shot of SOMETHING for nausea at the ready for when I come to.

Default Right before & after

Well I remember the ride down the hall to O.R., and the nurse telling my daughter that the waiting room was down the hall and then we made a turn in the opposite direction. I don't remember the recovery room but just incase, from past experiences, I had made sure that they were to put my glasses on me after surgery. I woke up in my room and saw my daughter standing across from my bed. She 'said' I had been asking her questions about the time and if she had been there all the time, but I didn't remember that. Frankly I think she was messing with my head. Npt long after she left Beth showed up to help me with my first lao around the bariactrics unit. Loved the liquid Loratab--- as long as I got benydril with it.

Default The first thing I remember....

When I awoke from surgery in the recovery room, I remember my stomach aching really bad....and the nurses asking me about my pain level....then I remember them telling me that they would bring my husband in really quick so he could see that I was o.k., and when he came in, I remember asking him, "Am I skinny yet?" Then I remember them wheeling me into my private room, and about an hour later, around 5 p.m. I took my first walk.....
