OMG Girl! The GOLDEN rule is, try everything at home and in small portions. The best of luck! I hope it sets well, because Chili is my staple when all else fails. Beans are full of protein but very fattening, in excess, but since our surgery allows us no excess this early out, it is usually not a problem. Again, everyone is different.

get yourself to a nutritionist please i feel you need some guidance, if your doctor did not provide you with guidance on foods, please see someone that will. Each of us were given or not given advice from our doctors, our advisment from our doctors are to us individualy as each surgeon is different, however a nutritionist will be able to shed some light on food suggestions.

I started solids starting at 3 weeks and only a new food a day up to 8 weeks. So for me, if I remember right, the chili was introduced at about 5 weeks...meat and all. Beef never, nver bothered me...all others I had issues with at one point or another.

My guidelines were basically as follows (all sugar-free and lowfat, of course):

Week 1: Liquids
Week 2: Purees (incl. yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding, etc.)
Week 3: Purees + eggs, refried beans, hummus, etc. (i.e., slightly lumpy foods)
Week 4-5: All purees + canned meats
Week 6-11: Lean soft meats (CHILI, meatloaf) + crunchy whole grains (crackers, toast) + soft fruits/veggies (no skins)
Week 12+: Any foods, incl. fresh fruits/veggies + skins, nuts, salads, etc.

No way could I have done chili at 11 days out. I probably could have done it at around 4 weeks, but that would have been pushing it.
