Tramadol is not an NSAID. NSAIDs are Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, and they include ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, among others), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn) and aspirin. The Mobic that I mention above is a COX-2 inhibitor, which is less likely to cause ulcers, as is Celebrex, but they are still NSAIDS and can have similar effects. Vioxx, which is in the news as causing possible heart attacks, is also a COX-2 inhibitor.
