Normal food at 6 weeks out
Hi Everyone,
I am almost 6 weeks out and have had nothing but great things to say about this experience so far! I feel great!
I'm kind of wondering if I'm doing the right thing with my eating though. There is virtually nothing that doesn't agree with me. I will say though I have not had any sugar and do not plan to. I have been eating solid food now for the past week and a half have not experienced any problems. Is this okay? I feel like maybe I'm doing something wrong like I'm too far ahead of myself. I usually eat a little less than a 1/4 cup qty at any time. I always try to eat mainly protein. Tonight I had turkey loaf and tiny bit of mashed potatos. I have had red meat with not problems and a number of other things. I'm very mindful of chewing the heck out of everything too. What do you guys think? Is this okay. The way I understood my doctor was to add food as tolerated.

i think if you are chewing your food and following your docs orders and making the right choices and its all agreeing with you , then you are doing great
i was still doing pureed foods til 9 weeks out and still do when i have bad food days/pissy pouch days - do what makes you feel good
great job, keep up the good work

Listen to your body. You will have good eating days and not so good eating days. Taking it slow and chewing is so important.
I really lenjoyed chili at your stage. Shrimp was good too. Very moist meat - I did mine in the pressure cooker and came out great. Protein is the key, eat it first.
Sounds like you are doing great.

I agree-- as long as you're getting your protein in, avoiding most carbs (especially the bad "white" ones), and chewing like crazy (i.e., pureeing via mouth), then you're probably fine.

Danielle I think you are doing great. Apparently people do good getting their red meats in as early as a couple of months. So if it anit broke don't try and fix it. Congrats on your success Danielle. Keep up the great work. Keep working that tool.

I, like you, was able to tollerate moist protein (fish, sauteed ground meats, deli meats) early out. I even called the nutritionist as I thought it was abnormal considering all the nausea and vomiting I was expecting to experience. You are behaving the way everyone should hope to aim for. I was not a protein supplement kind of girl. I aimed to get 80g of protein from my food. Just don't increase the quantities and listen to your pouch and you will be great!!!

Wendys Chilli was really a treat if I was out and busy. I think the nutritional numbers arent too bad either.

Man I cant wait for 6 weeks to clock up then, I like my chilli and curry.
How did you all get on with curry if you had it (not lunatic stuff like vindaloo or phall) but korma, or tikka massala etc?
