Hey Rachel....the first weeks are really a full time job! I also couldn't drink plain water for a long time. I did, and still a year and a half later, do a lot of warm beverages. I suggest you buy yourself some dry milk powder to add to coffe, tea, cocoa, etc. It will add some protein without the nasty taste of protein powders. It was a Godsend for me....and I still use it a lot. Hang in there....it gets easier.

OMG!!!!!!! You are kidding?!?!?! I pay $3.86 for the WalMart generic brand and it's for a 25.6 oz box. That's a little over 1 1/2 pounds. Geezzzzzzzz, I guess that would take all my grocery money a week......cause I go through 2 boxes a week! I can't live without my dry milk. I feel for you Lisa. It's so hard believe it's so expensive there.

Rachel sorry no advice here I'm still pre-op but I thank you for your honesty about your experience. I think we need to hear that it won't be easy but at least it will be worth it.
Hang in there girl and keep letting us know how you are doing.

You are earning your right to defend any comments about GBP being "the easy way", to lose weight!!!
We all have gone through what you are. It is not easy and yet I have yet to hear some one say it is not worth it!
In no time your weight will be dropping, the discomfort will ease and your health and well being will increase.
You will feel like a new person.
In a wirl wind the first year will be behind you and you will look twice in the mirror!!
You will do it, and remember it works because you have no choice at this point, so accept it, make good choices and always know we are here for you!!

Huggs!
I'm sorry you're going through this. I really was blessed in that the Isopure clear did not make me gag. I didn't want food and why not sip on it? I've had many people say I was nuts that it makes them sick.
I had taken care of my bedbound grandmother for years and she passed the night before my surgery. I went ahead with the surgery and put the funeral off until 3 days after. That week was full of stuff to do. So...just push yourself to look at protein and fluids as fuel necessary fuel. You will get through this....a better person for it!

3 weeks post op now. I was a pain in the rear for my dietician as after one week of C-Diff I could not even face build up shakes or soups, I just wanted to gag. I had normal canned cream soups and added milk powder to ramp up the protein and drinking those little bottles of pro-biotic drink twice a day. I have to say that on day 15 when I was allowed pureed food was really a relief.
Dont worry about forcing yourself to get up out and about, its a major thing and you just need to take your time. I tell you now after three weeks I am down a jean size and feeling like I am on the winning side for the first time.
You hang in there matey. Every new day you will be a little stronger
