I can imagine that two surgeries in 2 days would knock the stuffing out of ya.. Take it easy... I think the mantra could be modified to include an additional rest period! but... Sipping is still key! Grats on making it to the losing side.. and welcome home.. cant wait to read your progress!

so glad you made it home. I came home on the 29th, and am already a sugar-free popsicle fanatic! I know we can have jello and juice, but why have 2 ounces of juice (which looks so little) when you can have a whole sf popsicle? Anyway - let us know when you are scheduled to move on to other foods. Different doctors have different recomendations. mine says:

1 week clear liquids
1 week low fat full liquids
4 weeks soft food
then gradually add solid foods one at a time after that

Is your diet similiar? are you having any problems keeping anything down now?

Carol

I found that the colder something was, the easier it was to get down. SF Popsicles for sure- I'm thinking of changing my ID to Popsicle Whore. Water, with ice- lots of ice! I think because we're still healing inside, and maybe a little swollen, the cold is very calming to the pouch too. I also put my water in a clear glass- if I put it in something opaque and plastic, it's esasier to ignore!
Good luck- and welcome to the losers side!

Thanks! I'm feeling better by the day. As far as my diet goes...

2 days clear liquids
2 weeks purred protein (this is what I'm on now, blended tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, etc.)
2 weeks soft foot
Then graudally add solid foods but proteins only (meat, cheese, eggs)
Then gradually add in other foods.

So far I have had no trouble keeping anything down. They only thing I've been having trouble with is that they want me to take in 64 oz of fluid a day and I've only been able to get about 1/2 that much in b/c I'm so darn full!

Welcome home and hope you feel better and better each day. I also lived on SF popsicles, like you couldnt drink enough water. Now to help my water intake I love Chai tea. Good luck.
