Carrots are evil
It took two tries, but I finally learned my lesson...
I am almost 4 months out and was cleared for fresh fruits and veggies at 12 weeks. Pre-op, one of my favorite snacks (maybe my ONLY favorite HEALTHY snack) was raw baby carrots, so I was happy to be able to have them again.
Last week I had a couple in the morning as a snack, then for lunch I had some leftover fish from the night before... well, two bites into the fish, I KNEW there was a problem, and I ended up throwing up slime, constant spitting, and occasionally throwing up food for almost 3 hours. Since the carrots had gone down fine, I assumed it was the fish.
Well yesterday the same thing happened... had a few carrots mid-morning, no problems; at lunchtime, had 2 bites of very soft leftovers, and WHAMMO-- angry pouch, and three hours of spit-and-puke-fest.
And the very LAST thing that came up with all the vomiting-- yesterday AND last week-- was the danged carrots. I really think for whatever reason, they just DO NOT go through my pouch! It's strange that they don't make me sick right away, not until I eat something else on top of it, but MAN... I don't think I will EVER eat a raw carrot again. Three hours of agony is just too much.

Carrots are loaded with sugar--also very difficult to digest. Thanks for the warning!

I've had carrots ever since I could have veggies. Are you sure you're chewing them up enough? That could be the problem. Any time something comes back up, it almost always is because I haven't chewed well enough!

Our stomachs are all different but even at 3 months I could eat a baby carrot or two if I chewed well. How many are you eating?

I don't like carrots so I've left them out of my diet but, I do know if you want to plug up a sink just dump gratted carrots down the drain. Tim

Carrots are tricky. I mean, I had one of those Gerber Graduates for toddlers Lil' entrees(mashed potatoes with turkey ham and cooked carrots with green beans). I love these entrees because 1)they're baby food so they're super soft 2)since regular meats hurt/bother going down I'm stuck on baby food for a while. The carrots were really cooked and they were mushy soft in tiny cubes and they were delicious, went down fine. But then, about two weeks ago (maybe), my parents and I went to the mall and my dad stopped at Cajun Grill for food and I had been dying to eat an egg roll(I just had to have it!). So he bought himself a vegetable egg roll and I took like half of it. It was delicious, had carrot strips, lettuce strips and other veggie strips but these were not "cooked". They were inside the egg roll and since the egg roll was deep fried(big mistake on my part, it was bombs over baghdad at three in the morning in my bathroom that day!), they were warmed up but not cooked so they didn't settle good in my tummy...as a matter of fact, I don't even think I digested it at all. TMI, but they came out the exact same size, shape and form they came in, specially the carrots. I thought corn was the only food that did that.

First off the word raw is a NO NO, when it comes to vegatables. I had some raw carrots when I was like a year out and my pouch was like NO I don't think so. I was so sick. Try staying away from the raw veggies. Maybe try boiling them first.

I eat a lot of canned vegetables now, one of my faves being peas and carrots. Is it even healthy for me? I heard that the boiling removes a lot of nutrients and theres too much salt. I do enjoy them though, even the asparagus.

Evil?
Now do you really think Bugs Bunny would send a killer carrot out for you? I'm sorry, just had to say it.
I am 8 months out (wow, it feels weird even saying that) and still have not tried raw carrots. I also loved them as a snack before surgery but now, just really have no desire for them. I do however eat cooked carrots and don't ask me why but I love them. Maybe try cooking them or like other's said really really chewing them good. My suggestion is to wait about 3 or 4 weeks, then try again, that is what I have done with the foods I really want to eat, but sometimes can't. For me it is seafood of any kind. I love seafood, but 'Fred' refuses to allow it. So about once a month I go and buy a nice piece of fish, and try to eat it, and get sick. But, I'm have myself believing one of these days it's going to work.
