Unhappy 3 weeks...25#'s???

I am at my 3 week point and feel frustrated that I am not losing quicker.

Am I doing something wrong?
I am having a 140 cal. protein shake in the A.M.
Mid day yogurt or soup maybe 100 cal.
Dinner a bite of veggies or mushy protein, sometimes cheese.
Drinking 0 cal. teas and water.

So maybe I am eating a total of 300-400 calories and yet I only lost 2 pounds this week. AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!

I am walking and being physicaly active.

Someone , give me words of wisdom, I feel like I am failing like every other diet I have been on since I was 4 years old!!! I thought this one would work!!

Desperate,
Rain

Rain,

Have you checked your measurements lately? You could easily be moving fat to muscle. Don't fret though, I did that one week, only 2 pounds lost, but the next two weeks I lost 19 pounds! So keep your chin up, it will start melting off!

Default Rain,

You are totally normal in your weight loss. Like Tricia said, the weeks that I did not loose as much as I thought I should have, I took my measurements and was okay again. Maybe you also need to increase the amount of calories you are eating. Maybe get up to 500 to 600 calories a day instead.

No need to be desperate

Rain.

Don't worry....you will be fine. You are shrinking and may not be losing pounds, but inches are coming off. Don't get frustrated. Throw the scale aside if you have to just to get some peace of mind.

Question Too Little Food?

Rain:

It seems to me that your weight loss sounds on track.

However, Kim may be right...you may be eating too little. I went through a similar time at about two months post-op. My weight loss stalled and I couldn't figure out why. Then I started keeping track of my food on fitday.com and realized I wasn't eating enough! I was averaging about 500 calories a day. I increased my caloric intake to about 800 calories daily and the weight started dropping off again.

You might think about increasing your calories a bit. Good luck!

Default can't eat more

Dara and Kim,
Thanks for the advice, except I can not really eat anymore. I find it difficult to eat solid foods and there is only so much liquid a person can down. Not to mention no appetite. Do you have suggestions for me as to what kind of food I can eat?

Rain

Thumbs up count me in

Sounds fun. I am going to try to make it. I think I could use some comraderie. I am not as tall as you, i measure out somewhere between 5'7" and 5'8" depending on who measures me...heehee. My start weight was close to yours. I actually weighed 296 when I started the process, but got down to 285 by my surgury day. I gues when I think about it, I have actually lost 37 pounds. I should be happy.

What goes on during the meeting and where do we meet. Is this something I bring my husband to, or should I fly solo?

Thanks for all your info. You are such a treasure to this forum.
