I am pretty sure it was the Luigi brand. Almost positive. There great! I dont like when people dog on SF or reduced sugar items. Your expected to go from one extreme to another and that doesnt work. If you want to be an all vegan, all natural, herb growing in the backyard purist thats fine. Im glad you had the surgery and its made an impact on your life, but dont put down other people because they want to eat something that taste good now and again. I dont buy into the "well eat a salad, that taste good" We all know that's a rediculous argument.

Yeah, heaven forbid that someone tries to give some advice on a support forum....

First off I was not "dogging" on sugar free items.. I was merely adding my two cents on the subject. Can you please point out where I "put her down" because she wanted sugar free items? I think you need to read what I said again, because what I said was meant to help not put someone down as you implied.

It is NOT healthy no matter how great things taste to just jump right into eating junk and yes that's what it is.. its junk. That's fine if you make the choice.. but don't try and put me down for making healthy choices or trying to encourage others to make healthy choices.

We have all been in the same boat struggling with weight and I would like to THINK that most of you out there will encourage ME and others to make the right choice when it comes to eating and exercise. I am not going to encourage anyone to start taking up the little space we have in our stomach with sugar free candy bars and ice cream and other things. Saying it is not realistic to go from one extreme to another is false because I did it. I am not a health nut.. and I do not have unrealistic expectations for anyone.

What we did WAS the major extreme with the operation so in my opinion we have to be prepared to go to the same extreme in our actions. But that's all this is.. my opinion and I force it on no one. I said what I did to try and help, if it was taken as being rude then I apologize.

Well, I too used to love smoothies before my surgery...as a matter a fact, I went to Jamba Juice yesterday...peeked at their menu...and totally freaked out! Their 16oz Protein Berry Pizzazz which is described as "Dreamy-creamy soy protein for muscles and juicy berries for Pizzazz! This delicious low-fat smoothie is packed with 20 grams of protein—over 40% of your daily recommended needs—to help your body grow and perform vital functions like cell repair. It’s also high in vitamin C, to help strengthen your immune system, and calcium and phosphorous for strong bones and healthy teeth.

Ingredients: soymilk, frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, ice, protein boost." has 56g of Total Carbohydrates out of which 48g are Sugar and only 15g of Protein!!! I would go ahead and ask Planet Smoothie for their nutrional information...or just go to their link... http://www.planetsmoothie.com/images/ps_nutriton.pdf ... pretty scary!!

Yeah you have to be careful and look at everything.. all the fun drinks are just full of bad things. The lean body one I get has everything on the back so you can see what you are taking in.

Once you add fruit to it you have to keep in mind that changes the over all calories.. but in all honesty I love the way it taste.. its sweet and does not taste like a protein drink at all.

April,

If I came off as attacking you personally I am sorry. I wasnt. The idea that someone should feel bad because they like to enjoy SF Ice Cream or SF chocolate just angers me in general. There is nothing wrong with encouraging someone to make healthy decisions. You have every right to on this forum and I think your thoughts were intelligently spelled out. However, when I see someone who used to eat a bag of snickers bars every night who is now thin and likes to enjoy one or two SF hershey miniatures; being told that there making a poor decision....it's crazy in my opinion. How can that person be said to be falling back into there old lifestyle?

Now, if the person is a month out from surgery, heck even four or five months out from surgery, I can see how it would be wise to avoid filling up that limited space with stuff that doesnt have a health benefit. Again, I wasnt going after you personally and I dont think I made that clear in my original post. I'm sure we disagree on the subject at hand but I wasnt making any generalizations about you.
