So what is it?
Okay, I read about how much people eat and how often. I am a slow looser, and I have said that time and time again here. My doctors suggests that I eat 6 times a day. So I have 3 meals and 3 snacks. Meals would be like a 2/3 cup of chili for lunch, package of tuna, 8 or so shrimp. Breakfast is usually string cheese and 4 triskets, or a protein bar. Dinner could be small chicken, or tuna. Snacks could also be cheese, cottage cheese, fruit. Healthy things. I would like to know how many times a day do you guys eat? The other thing is, I always have an evening snack (healthy). I am wondering if I should cut that out? Additionally, I TRY and eat 1000-1200 calories a day with those 6 meals, protein being from 60-90 grams. I am still at my plateau, and want to mix things up. I have been exercising like a mad woman and put on a pound this week! I am back to 190 for the third week in a row. (did hit 189 for 3 days).
Okay, guys, I need to know what you do. I am feeling down even though I am doing everything I think I should do. I am only 21 weeks out! Help!

You no I am not the expert...but why not cut back calories for 3/4 days keep protein and water up...switch your workout routine (change it up) and hopefully that will get things moving....
Take care g/f

I am not post-op yet, but I thought i would share the instructions my surgeon gave me...
Eat only 3 meals a day-- no snacks. At mealtime, eat the protein item first, then the side item. And of course, nothing to drink with meals.
If I feel like I must have something in between-- only a protein shake-- nothing else.
Hope this helps,
Rachel

I ate 5 times a day for almost 2 years, because I was hungry and I needed it. Do you feel like you need to eat that much? Maybe cut back on one snack to find out and go from there.

I am not hungry. I am trying to get in my calories for the day. At 12:30, I have only had 240 calories. My doctor says at least 1200.....

Most docs realistically know you can only get in 600-800. Stop worrying about caloric intake a worry about protein, protein, protein and veggies/fruit. Oh and your vitamins.
You wont go wrong or hurt yourself following that rule of thumb. That is per Dr Callery (the surgeon that hosts this site, and my Dr.) and his practice is a Center of Excellence on WLS.
How long has your Dr been doing this procedure? Does he specialize in WLS only or does he do other things like Oncology, Internal Medicine, etc?
If you go to this main page www.thinnertimes.com there are dietary guidelines as well.
But again, dont worry about calories, worry about them when you are worried you are losing too much weight.

My doc has never even mentioned caloric intake. He tells me to eat protein, protein, and more protein. He also has us eating 6 times a day, which for me is very very difficult. I have a tight schedule, and eating every 3 hours trying to get 6 times a day is next to impossible! I would do what others have suggested. Cut back on the calories and mix up your exercise regimen. Good luck!

I am not sure how long, but he specializes in GBP. He doesnt specialize in anything else.
I will check out the guidelines on the site.
My dietician has me all worried about the calorie intake. I was only at 800, and they said I was putting my body into starvation mode. That is why I try and get in 1200 calories a day.

Remember the less you weigh, the less calories you burn.....that fact has just barely hit me.....sucks. But even on weight watchers, the less you weigh the less points you have...1200 calories seems like a lot to me even if you are eating good stuff. All that being said 3500 cals equals a pound and resting at your weight you burn aprox 1800-1900 cals a day so if you are exercising you are burning much more so I say your body is at a point it is saying wow back, slow down, what the heck!!! I'll just bet your not done yet. Keep up the good work and I bet it'll go......
