Am I water logging?
Okay, as you all may know by now, I am 5 days out from surgery (counting the actual surgery day). My concern is in two parts. First, this morning I forgot to sip my water and found myself gulping down 16 ounces in less than one hour. When I realized this, I was terribly alarm because I still was not full. Especially when I hear the majority of my staplemates say that it is a struggle for them to get all of their water in. Secondly, it seems to me that I am also able to eat alot. Yesterday, I ate 5 sugarfree popsicles and 2 cups of jello, in addition to 1/2 cups of chicken broth (and all that water) throughout the day. I don't want to be a paranoid dweeb, but is this normal?

That seems totally fine to me. At one month or so, I could drink a lot of water and pops. I think the liquid really does go right through you. (anyone know that for sure?) Additionally, some people can drink water faster than others. I am about 20 weeks out, and I can drink water much faster than I could at one month out. (I do try and drink slow though) The good news is that you are getting your liquids in and that, at this stage is totally key.
Good luck to you!

I'm coming up on five weeks out. At first the water was a struggle, but within the last week or so it has become much easier. I worry about amounts too, but my pouch knows when it's had enough. I've decided not to obsess about amounts, just getting protein in first, as much as possible, no crap. The rest will come, I guess. Whatever I do now is still a heck of a lot better than what I was doing before!

Bless your luck
I struggled with getting my liquid in, too, and everything you are listing is a liquid (yes, ice pops and even gelatin, which your body warmth melts into liquid). You are lucky in that it is easy for you...you may find that, as you progress to solids, it's a completely different matter. Just take it slow...
Think of your pouch as a funnel, big opening, small exit. If you pour water through a funnel, it runs right through. If you pour sand through it, it goes through slower, but still goes through... this is why you're advised to chew, chew, chew once you start solids, so that it gets closer to soft consistency and can exit your pouch. Large, unchewed bites can literally block the pouch ext. It's also part of why we don't drink with meals, as this turns everything into soup, exiting the pouch quicker, and you get hungry sooner.

I too am able to drink water much easier now that I am a little further out. At first it was very hard and I had a lot of gas, so I was eating frozen pops all day long just to get my fluids in. Now I drink pretty easy. There have been a few times when I drank too fast and my poor pouch was not happy. But that helped me to figure out what is too much to take in at one time. I can literally just sit and drink all day. Drink wait a min drink some more and so on. It does just go right through.
