This is SO strange that you guys bring this up!!!!! I NEVER had a problem reading up close until after surgery. I am, however, near sided and I do wear glasses for that, but my eyes have gotten so bad that I can't even read the label on a food item unless I hold it at arm's length. I thought it was just because of the type of work I do and I look at the computer monitor all day, but I did do this job for years before WLS and never had a problem. I have a problem even looking at a splinter that may get in my hand or with sewing a button on. It's getting VERY frustrating!

I asked my ex about this today... hes an optometrist too princess He said that with all the issues you had Dave.. he wouldnt dare even guess... but he also mentioned that he never recommended a new fit for a while after surgery because of the anesthesia..

I notice that my vision changes (gets blurry) when my blood sugar gets to low. Right after surgery I realized I couldn't see the clock across the room. When I checked Fitday I found that I had eaten only 400 calories for the day and about 4 carbs. I had a 1/4 cup of refried beans and in about an hour the blurriness cleared up. Not saying that's definitively what it was, but it works for me!

It's interesting to hear all of you state that your eyesight has gotten worse. Mine has actually gotten better. We actually had this discussion at my training for Bariatric support group leader and the consensus among the 8 of us there is that 4 of us reported no change and 4 of us actually had our eyesight improve. I know the 2 women who lead the group said they are conducting a study right now to investigate the change in eyesight to see if they can find any medical proof why the surgery might cause a change.

Interesting....

Wow,
I guess I am not alone. I will deal with it and wait for a few months prior to coming up with a solution. I hope people continue to chime in. I find it interesting that many of you are experiencing similar issues. It is nice not to a enigma for a change.

Arrow My eyelid twitches...

I don't think my eyesight has changed much...but it is time to get my yearly exam. What I have noticed is that my left eyelid goes into spasms. I dont know why its doing that? It's almost like I developed some kinda tick. It's so weird...? Does anyone know or have experienced this before?
