You are almost at the point where things change. Soon every 15-20 pounds will mean new clothes and once you are below 200, each 10-12 pounds is another size down. It is a greater percentage of your total body weight.
When buying new bras, get ones with a tight band as the band changes faster than the cup size.
It will happen for you. You are doing great

Thanks Dyann, I ws really feeling down yesterday about all of my clothes and inches and stuff. Today i woke up exercised and feel better. I keep thinking that as soon as I get under 200 pounds I will go through my closet and start buying clothes again.
Thanks for the bra info as well. I am very nervous about ordering bras. The only thing I can get around here are underwire bras and I just can not wear them. But I am afraid to spend the money and have them be to big for me.

At last count I was down 24 pounds and except for a couple of friends NOONE can see the difference. None of my co-workers can see a thing.
DyAnn is a marvel ... listen her.
She's right. Me. I'm still wearing the same small wardrobe of big loose tops and black stretchy pants and it's gonna stay that way (I can tell for at least another 30 pounds)
Have faith. (Listen to me HA HA!! giving other folks encouragment when I need THEM to give ME encouragement!!!! )
Ohhh we're allllll having a hard ride on this bumpy road!!!!

Bella, well if this is your future just remember to come back to the post and see what everyone had to say. It is so much easier to give support to others than to figure out how to give it to ourselves. Thank you so much for your support.
This road certainly is bumpy and hard to be on sometimes but I have to believe that their is a nice newly paved road coming up soon that will be fun to ride on.

On a side note, if you are only taking in 800-900 calories and you're exercising 5 times a week, it could be that you aren't getting in ENOUGH calories. Our program nutritionist doesn't want us getting in less than 800 calories a day, and you're very close to that. So maybe that has something to do with things...

I was wondering if I was not eating enough. It scares me to even try to eat more because I still have the fear that the weight will come back. I exercise about 5 hours a week and am moderately active the rest of the time.
I was thinking about increasing my calories and trying to eat more. I get pretty full now with what I eat and I am going to try to add in fruits and vegetables now and that will up my intake. But part of it still scares me that I will go back to where I was before and end up eating as much as I did before. Part of the reason I started exercising regularly was to give a boost to my weight loss along with all the other reasons. I am afraid if I increase my calories that benefit will go away.
I will try to increase it slowly and see what happens.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I kind of felt stupid after I posted because it sounded dumb to me. But it really helps just knowing that others either feel the same or have felt the same or see that in their future.
This forum is really great and helps me feel like I am part of something instead of all alone.
I do feel better today. I got up and exercised and just tried to think of all the positive things that have happened since surgery. A big one is I can exercise for a hour at a time and not die.
I can't wait until the inches start coming off and I can feel the difference in my clothes and how my body moves.

I felt like that during phases of my weight loss. Initially is was like "wow" I lost a size......then it seemed to move so slow and nobody noticed.
The smaller I get the more noticeable it is and the sizes seem to go faster. I chalk it up to stretching and fitting into my bigger clothes, then they were looser and now my clothes are more fitted.
It seemed like I was wearing a size 16-18 forever, then skipped the 14's altogether.
Hang in there...you will see many more great things to come in this journey.

My mother and I were just discussing this....Think about it...If you are 300 lbs and loose 30 lbs that is 10% of your weight.
If you are 200 lbs and loose 30 lbs that is 15% of your weight.
If you are 150 and loose 30 lbs that is 20% of your weight.
This is why when MO people diet they have to loose quite a bit of weight before people notice. Like wise if a person is on the slender side and gets the stomach flu for a couple days people begin to think they are anorexic.

That does make a lot of sense in my head I just wish it made more sense on my butt.
I did have a nice moment the other day when I was standing in the kitchen my husband came in and just stood there. I asked him why he was standing there staring at me and he said you really are melting away. I didn't really believe him but it did give me a little boost.

re: bras, I love Lane Bryant's Cacique line, hope they still carry them... I have to get more soon, too, and LB is where I plan to start looking-- they have lots of no-underwire varieties and they're really comfy. (But not cheap, unfortunately.)

Hi Angie,
Keep Your Head Up Girl. Things Get Better . I Am Only 72 Pounds Down From Surgery And Only 6 Or 7 Sizes Smaller . With About 40 Or 50 Pounds To Go . For The Last Couple Weeks I Been Not Losing , Actually Been Ranging From 145-147 . I Went Away For The Weekend And Couldnt Weigh Myself , So I Weighed Myself On Sunday And I Weighed 140 And I Was 145 On Friday. I Was Happy At That Point . But I Think We Have All Had Our Depressing Moments During This Process And We All Have Our Happy Ones Too , You Will Get Your Happy Ones Soon!!!! Hang In There.

hang in there Angie, cuz soon your clothes will be hanging on you, or in my case, falling off you
i too had to lose 60+ pounds before it was really noticeable, and it seemed at the 70 pounds lost mark, people (and some i see on a daily basis) said to me one day, wow look at you, you lost so much weight (i wanted to smack some of them, what did they think? i lost that overnight?) but that is when it really showed, then i changed clothes sizes from that point on every two weeks, and still changing, it seems to take a while for it to start, but look out cuz when it does, it happens fast and you change often.
sorry to hijack, but Bella, your face, look at your skinny little face, love the new avvie girl!
