I am very good at vomiting since having GBS...I can't say any one thing sticks out but I just hate it when it comes out of my nose also.

I also hate afterwards...when I blow my nose it is still coming out.

My situation is crazy but I can not remember EVER getting sick/vomiting prior to surgery.

V- I was never a puker before my surgery either.. unless it was the flu or something terrible... now unfortunately it is like second nature... I feel the sensation coming on and I always get to the toilet in time... I swear sometimes I can just think of the toilet and I can puke.... I was never like this before, but the good side it is a learning experience..... I know I don't like the ill feeling and throwing up so I am trying to be more aware of what I am eating

I'm a puker too...but food in general makes me totally nauseous when it slides down my throat. I gag on a daily basis and I really have to talk to myself to keep from letting it big an all out BIG gag everytime. I had a cast iron stomach before surgery too. Nothing made me sick. I cant even watch someone preparing meat while cooking on TV while I try to eat now. It grosses me out so much that I have to give up on my meal. That's when a BIG cup of coffee with lotsa powdered milk starts to sound really nice!

I can relate to the not throwing up either. Before GBS my greatest fear was throwing up. I would "fight" it for what seemed like forever. (constantly spitting out the sour saliva, laying down) I felt like Jerry Seinfeld and the non-vomit streak. I think my longest was three or four years. Now I am a pro. I instantly feel when its going to happen even before my body starts the process.

Thanks for the replies! It was nice reading them. I can relate to a lot of it.

I was petrified of vomiting prior to surgery. I think it was a control issue, I am a bit of a control freak and it was something that could not be controlled. Now post-op I have vomiting down to an art form. I can do it anytime and anywhere if I need to. I swear I am not bulimic, but having fought with strictures off and on its a part of life. I still think the worst thing to throw up is milk. I did it last night and I swear I can still tast it. Hope thats not TMI!

Haven't puked since May 8 , 2006....but I still remember it well. Slime, slime and more slime has to be the worst. I was lucky when food came back up, but when it doesn't and its all slime......OMG.....gross for hours on end!

Weird. I just vomitted, for the first time in a couple months, last night after having eaten some chicken wings. I had them and went to my therapy session and for pretty much the whole thing I was sitting there thinking, I really need to puke. It was pretty abyssmal.
