I hope you find out tomorrow what is wrong and get it taken care of. I had my gallbladder removed several years ago and when I had pain it was in my center chest area. Felt like a diesel truck was being drive through my body all the way out my back. So, I think the pain can radiate to different spots. Good luck and hope you find something out and get it taken care of soon!

Did you have blood drawn? There is a specific test which becomes elevated when the gallbladder is infected. Very easy to detect.

They did draw blood but I'm not sure whether it would show up or if they have to do a specific test?

I think these appearances are in keeping with a possible lucent calculus within the right distal ureter possibly at the level of the VUJ. Further clinical correlation is advised.

Any ideas?
That study states there is a high suspicion for a kidney stone that got lodged at the vessico-ureteral junction (where the bladder meets the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder) Sounds like you need a pelvic ultrasound as well. Did you have a CT or IVP? Did they ultrasound your gallbaldder as well?? They need to do a noncontrast CT (no IV contrast) or a urologist needs to to a cystoscopy. Hope it works out

Thanks for deciphering this Dyann. Don't know if I can really answer your questions though as I was so out of it on pain. But, they did one of those scans where they inject iodine into you and you got under the xray/scanning machine. I don't know if that covered the gallbladder but I am assuming as it covered all of my abdomen it would have? They also did a normal xray.

They are sending me for a pelvic ultrasound next week (bit scared of that one!) - does anyone know what's involved?

The good news is that I feel much better today - no pain at all!

NO PAIN is good! An ultrasound is an ultrasound. It doesn't hurt. It's like when they do the one for pregnant woman.
