I got home yesterday. Im sore and moving slow but doing fine. Trying to get enough fluids down is a challenge. Each swallow is a little uncomfortable as it goes in my pouch. I'm also gassed up to beat the band.

Try smaller, slower sips Rich. I started out with 1/3 of an ounce every 10 mins. If you have one of those 30cc medicine cups from the hospital or a shot glass with measurements on it they're awesome for gauging how much to drink until you get used to sipping.

Default Checking in

I'm here, thanks for asking! Trying to get more liquids down, I'm really not interested in food or drink at the moment and have to force myself to take anything in. I'm not feeling any discomfort as richyrich is when I take anything down, but my pouch does grumble when I do. The soreness is really annoying, and I have a pain on my right side where an incision was. Other than that, I've been walking around the house frequently, and trying to keep myself occupied.
Good luck fellow losers!

Default hxquero-reporting!!

Well, I had my surgery as scheduled. My mom freaked out because it took 6 hours!! Never the less, I made it out fine...I was in the hospital for 2 days total...not bad! I got home and have not had to use any pain medication or Tylenol!! I have been on a liquid diet...my only concern is...I can drink a lot more than I have read you should be able to...is this normal?? I can drink up to 1.5 liters of water in a day and eat a whole 4 oz serving of jell-o in one sitting...am I doing something wrong?? I wonder about this because the binder I was given specifies what you can eat/drink...it just doesn't say how much...any info??

It is liquid - Jello is too - goes right through. Don't worry one more second about it. Staying hydrated is a good thing - you'll avoid many problems.

Welcome to the other side!!

Just make sure you are doing it in 15 minutes and not drinking right after. Sounds like all of you are progressing nicely. Keep us updated.
