I wish there was some set rate at which we can expect to lose, but everyone's different... Mine got very slow for a couple of weeks about a month after surgery, but now it seems to have picked up. My numbers were as follows:
Week 1 11 lbs.
Week 2 6 lbs.
Week 3 2.5 lbs.
Week 4 3 lbs.
Week 5 2 lbs.
Week 6 1.5 lb.
Week 7 5 lbs.
Week 8 4 lbs.
Week 9 3 lbs.
I'm sure this past week would have been more if I had gotten by butt out of the house and walked, but it was bitter cold here in PA for most of the week, so I stayed in. (Lucky for us, we haven't had a speck of snow like you poor guys in upstate New York have had!!)
It's looking like our snow-free stretch is about to come to a close, though-- forecast is calling for snow on Tuesday, so maybe I'll be able to log "two hours of snow shoveling" as exercise, woohoo!

Try this link.
Hey, Scott!
Try this link: http://www.thinnerself.com/files/Expect_Chart.htm - put in your weights and hit "Create report" - It's a great tool! - Everyone's different, but it'll give you a high and low expectation - for all us pessimists and optimists!
You're doing GREAT! Congratulations on being so close to the century mark!

Don't see any protein there
Scott,
While your weight loss sounds good, I see very little protein in anything you're eating except the chili. Do you have any kind of protein requirement from your doctor? Most of us are required to get at least 55-60 grams of protein a day in order to keep our hearts healthy and to lose fat instead of muscle. Just worried about you!
That said, your weight loss rate is grand, and guys generally lose weight post-op much, much faster than women. Congratulations on your progress to date!

Lisa is right on - wheres the protein in your diet? you have to have that protein in order to lose weight correctly - it helps lose fat and not muscle mass

Yeah, cream of wheat and mashed potatos seem carb heavy and your protein is way light. Should be flipped. Protein heavy and carb light/not at all early on.

I think CIB is a great invention!!!!Talk to your Dr but I think you could do CIB inbetween your beans and chili (protien meals)
I lived off CIB for the first six months and still return to liquids very often at two years out.
Again, all Dr.s are different but our bodies are not really...
In my own situation...I started out with 6 mini meals in the begining and still do it to this day.It works for me and my pouch.
Best wishes~
