Don't even get me into the Labor Law mode! I know the law! If you are in the ER, your employer can NOT fire you and if he tries, you might just win a tidy lawsuit settlement. So get your tiny little booty to the ER and make sure you're okay. Sheesh!!

My boss is letting me go to the doc. during lunch tomorrow, but she said no time off. I'm too scared to jeopardize my job (and consequently my health insurance) to make a stand, to be honest.

Has the color changed at all today? I am worried about you too! Isn't there an urgent care clinic near you? The wait is usually shorter than at the ER

I agree with everyone. Is your boss worth it? Sounds to me like you can get a job where they will treat you like a human.
Just go to the doctor and get a note and slap it on your bosses head!! And keep a copy for your records. Your boss sounds like a real threat and that is harrassment.

I tried but she is with a small company and no HR department, no handbook etc. Amanda - I am having lunch tomorrow with my broker from work, and will ask about this for you to see what your rights are in a small company, okay? I'll call you when I'm on my way home, and if you're free, you're on my way back to the South Bay so I can perhaps stop in and see/ meet you somewhere, okay?
