I'd be happy to worry about the numbers - I'll do any math I could - I'd worry twice as much if helped at all!
It comes down to the conversation I had with my surgeon pre-op where he told me the "average" weight loss would put me at about 190. And I said, "But you have patients that go much further than that, right?" He said, "The difference is exercise". So - I'm a good student - I understood the rules, so I exercise every frickin day. BUT he did not say that I'd surpass the average in 7 months so I should really give him a break. (I do often have the urge to kick him in the shin when things aren't going the way I want. Is that weird?)

I wonder if you just need to give yourself a break.....stop......just eat what you know you should and drink, then stop for a short time, a vacation of sorts. Then go back to being the exercise queen. Just a thought! It really couldn't hurt.

I was thinking about a rest - or a different and not so strenuous excercise. I was once forced to take a week off because my back was out, and ironically I lost like 5 pounds...but my body was catching up on some much needed rest. How are you sleeping?

I just spent a week doing only elliptical - so that should have rested my muscles a bit.
Sleep is for the weak! No really - between my kids, husband and my need to be here to stay sane during this process, I'm lucky if I get 5 or 6 hours a night. But I haven't slept more than that is 12 years, so it isn't like a big change.
I did take today off - I totally overdid the lunges on Monday - I couldn't even let my daughter sit on my lap my quads were so sore. Tried to take a hot bath last night, but our water heater couldn't keep up with us and I had a luke-warm bath - not good.
ANYWAY - I think I'm having an aunt flo problem anyway - I though it was over, but it isn't. Maybe I'm still holding onto some water or something.
Like I said, I know I'll be fine, but this isn't the version of weight loss I had hoped to have.
Yet I know, in the end, I am going to look amazing - I already feel great. I have SO much energy - it is a little insane sometimes.
Thanks Whitney.

You know this will pass...just waiting is a killer. Maybe trick your body with a few carbs or a few days off from the gym. You are so strong and physical, your body is thinking it doesn't know where its next calorie is coming from that it will need so it is just holding on for dear life. It isn't easy. Have your measurements changed this month??

Hey Gina, I understand your frustration. As you know I went through my own plateau hell awhile ago. I'm afraid I don't have any major words of wisdom for you. I do think the advice of maybe taking a few days off may not be a bad idea. What I've always heard is that you need to shake things up a bit when you have a plateau. Something else I've heard suggested is to go back on a liquid protein diet for 3-7 days. Much like you ate early postop. Now I can't swear that this works but I know just before I broke my plateau I went to primarily liquid protein and one meal of solids a day. I was just sick and tired of eating so I took the "easy way" out and drank my protein. It was also a way I could up my protein. Not sure if this is what started things off for me but it might be worth a try.
Hang in there sweetie. I know you aren't done, but our heads like to play all sorts of games with us, don't they?

Yep, this June Bug is on the plateau too. I think I lost a whole 4#'s last month. The difference is I barely get the MIN. of protein in a day and don't work out nearly as much as you. I do my things, but I think your dedication to exercise would increase any frustration you were having. I totally get that. Personally, I don't mind this slow down now. I'm ok because I know that I am <<< this >>> close to goal, and so are you. It's inevitable to slow down when closer to your target. I have 24#'s to goal...that isn't much compared to what it was PRE-OP. Of course that last 24 is going to take it's sweet time coming off. You need to look at the glass as being 1/2 empty in this case...not 1/2 full!!

Gina, you are exactly 2 months behind me - 2 months ago . .. I lost the gooseegg!! Month 9 - I lost 6 pounds, Month 10 - 0 pounds, so far this month I've lost 7 pounds - My month ends on the 20th . . . so we'll see what happens. I only have a few pounds to goal . .. and I'm training hard and eating right . . . I figure it will happen.
My entire year of weight loss has been this way:
month 1 - 33
month 2 - 12
month 3 - 12
month 4 - 10
month 5 - 10
month 6 - 7
month 7 - 5
month 8 - 6
month 9 - 6
month 10 - 0
month 11 - 7 so far.
I bet if you look at your numbers - they are similar!! My doc averages about 70% of the weight lost . . . so I've above that and happy!!! With averages like that - you gotta work hard!!

Maybe a change is what's needed though. You are doing right by your body in most other ways. Eating better, Exercising, living healthier. Give it some more down time to help recover. It can't hurt.
