Well I think everyone is right I am just going to bring them out to a charity this weekend. I want to go through my closet one more time before I get rid of everything.
My friend who had surgery 5 years ago, still lives at the thrift stores. I am currently overseas in Germany, so that is not an option. There are some thrift stores here but they are not good. Also sadly no Targets, or the like. Our local BX store is moderately priced but has very little in the way of plus size clothing. Most of the time I shop online or wait until I go back to the states and get clothes. But I can not buy online because I have no idea what size to buy or what size I will be when the clothes finally arrive.
I am supposed to get out Tax return this weekend and I think I will go to the store anyway and just try a few things on and maybe get one or two new shirts. I still have pants that sort of fit and will probably sort of fit for another few weeks.
I am looking forward to shedding the large, elastic pants just scared.
I now that it is not the clothes that are hard to get rid of, it's the thought process. I have to accept that this is not just another diet that is doomed to fail in a few months. I have changed my lifestyle dramatically in the last 7 weeks and now I have to change my wardrobe as dramatically.

I do like the burn baby burn idea. I wish I could just hold a large bonfire in my back yard and throw my clothes in to it.

I am so happy to here you are ready to take the step! I did throw 2 outfits into my fireplace hehehehe. The ones I through in were the ones I wore in pictures that made me say enough is enough and get the surgery.

You are right on track! We have to think we will not be "Fat" again. Learn to love the new you. Even though I am only 10 weeks out I have come to love myself how I am. If I stayed the weight I am now I would be happy with me. With that said I know I will lose more weight but right now I am enjoying the new me. Get to the BX or a local store and BUY SOMETHING!!! Put it on and say now that's what I am talking about.

Have fun with it. Keep me posted on the clothes war, and there is nothing wrong with a little burn, baby burn!

Where in Germany are you? My sister and her family are out there. Her husband is in the Air Force. Well she is temporarily back in the states because or dad is very sick.

I always kept two sizes above whatever I was at. Now I am an 8 and I keep my 12's. Anything bigger is gone.

I kept my largest pair of jeans (that were tight at my highest weight), and that is it. I saved them so I could look back and see how far I've come. As I shrunk, I purged to a pile. Ehen the pile got to be the size of a bag, I'd bag it up and pass them along to friends first, then I'd tale the remainder to my support group meetings, and whatever was leftover from that I would take to the Salvation Army. I did have to my replacement clothes when I hit the 16's, but had pretty much every other size - I am now in 6's and 8's and have kept some 10's only b/c I will be having my TT in March, and need comfy and loose fitting pants...

Purge the clothes - it does feel so good!!

Alexandria, my husband is in the Air Force and we are at the Spangdahlem/Bitburg base. We live in Western Germany near the Luxembourg border.

I have decided to keep one pair of pants that I am going to put in the back of my closet. that way I can take them out and look at them and see how far I have come. It is funny to have such an attachment to clothes that I hated to wear and sizes that I hated to wear because they just made me look fat.

I am looking forward to shopping just a little. I will only get a couple of things but I would like to see what size I am really at.

Ok, y'all convinced me. I went through my closet last night, tried on a whole lotta stuff for my hubby and when he shook his head "no," I knew it was too big and it goes to the thrift store.

There is a store in my town that takes very nice large sized clothes on consignment so I'm keeping the expensive stuff and trading them for smaller used things until I reach my goal. You might look for a similar shop in your hometown.

Hey, this is fun!
