Default Rain is Home!!

Hi everyone!!!

I am home and doing well. All the nurses and staff at Pomerado were awesome!! Said I was the perfect patient!

Well, I feel pretty good. The pain is definately bearable. I've had a few other surgeries so I guess I was prepared.

One question, I feel quite bloated, a really stuffed feeling and I can't really drink more than a couple sips of anything. I am also kinda burpee, I asume it is all normal, but your comments would be helpfull!

Thank you all who tried to come up and see me. I realize the weather got to be horrible that night, so don't feel bad. I saw Stella last night, she went in this morning.

So now that I survived the operation I want to get the next few weeks behind me to be clear of complications. Any one have any tips, let me know.

By the way, my daughter came home early to see me after all. She has a tender heart. It seems that not seeing me was harder than she thought. She was still sleeping when I came home at 12:00 p.m. (teenagers) and when she heard me, she crept out and I had to hold back my giggles, cause she was wearing my nighty and my favorite bracelets and my wedding band. She said it made her feel better. I love that little chicken of mine. My boys were great, too!!

I lost 3 1/2 #'s in hospital!! On my way!!

See ya all soon!!

Rain

Smile Hi Rain!

I wanted to come see you so bad... call me a weanie but the weather was frightful, or I would have been there I promise! That's cute about your daughter, my son Isaiah washed with my bodywash and shampoo while I was in the hospital... he wanted to smell me... it was cute. That full feeling.... did you have your procedure lap? It s probably because you still have the gas they fill you up with during the surgery..... just sip and relax! 3 1/2 pounds gone forever woo hoo! Alright!

Complications, I had one.. it was pancreatitis.. low back pain, constant dehydration and the inability to eat more than 2 bites of anything. Really bad stomach cramps... kind of felt like constant labor. Thats what to look for with pancreatitis. Christina, Phil, Stuart and Gerry aka bigbaldbuddy had complications too, you could email them to ask what they had happen and what to look out for. Stuart and Gerry dont post as often as Phil, Kina and I.

I wish you a flawless recovery... big hugs to you... I cant wait to see your happy little face!

Rain,
Welcome to the other side! Gas-X is great for the full, burpy feeling. I am almost 6 months out and I never go anywhere without it. Good luck and God speed on a speedy recovery.

Default Cough, etc.

They say a cough is not unusual - your lungs were under a sort of assault with the anesthesia for the duration of the surgery - so it's probably nothing to worry about, unless it gets worse. In fact, some coughing is recommended to help you get your lung function up to par again.

Use your incentive spirometer... and get up and walk around a lot. You don't want blood clots forming! I THOUGHT I had one, and went off to the E.R. at Pomerado a week or so after surgery. Fortunately, the sonogram showed no clots in my legs, so I guess I just had some muscle pain. Better safe than sorry.

Take enough time off work and other activities to make sure your energy is back before you try to go full steam ahead again. Enjoy taking care of yourself!

Rain,
I'm so,so,so happy to hear everything went well and you seem to be in good spirits! Thanks for the little story on your homecoming with your daughter. It brought tears to my eyes. It is so wonderful to see you were that thought of while you were gone. Makes parenting all worth it.

Thumbs up Welcome home Rain

Welcome home Rain,

I am two weeks post op surgery. I had a big issue with the burbs. I just kept feeling bloated. Gas-x was great. Also, it helps once everything gets going through the system again, if you know what I mean.

I would take advantage of using the spirometer. It helps a great deal in keeping the lungs nice and healthy. By using the spirometer you are pushing out and opening up the alveoli, which is the tiny airsacks in your lungs.

Congratulations on your surgery!!

Davey

Thumbs up feeling better

Thanks all,

I am feeling better this morning. The weather is better so I hope to go out side and walk today. The track around my family room and kitchen was getting a little old!!!

I called the office last night about the cough and spoke to Dr. C. He said I could go to e.r. if I thought I needed to but since my heart rate and temp was good it probably was not serious, so I did not. He called this morning to check on me. He is so funny when we were talking about gas and such, ( which I am not in the habit of discussing, USUALLY )he said don't worry about talking about that stuff to your G.I. doc, its like talking about you brakes to your brake guy!! lol!

Insision is quit sore but other than that I feel good, I sleep well and air is escaping if you know what I mean.

Davey, I can't beleive how much weight you have lost in 2 weeks. Kelly said us girls would learn to hate you guys because of how fast you men loose weight!!!
But I don't I am happy for you!!
