Trust me, the threat of strictures is just about the only thing holding me back from going out and getting a pack of smokes right now... fortunately my surgeon also mentioned this being the #1 smoking-related complication at my pre-op appointment, so at least that stuck in my head. (Unfortunately the evil addict part of my brain is thinking, "well you can start back up in 3 months then." HOW FRICKING STUPID IS THAT?!?! But alas, as of today I am one month smoke-free... one day at a time, as they say.

Don't feel alone. I , too, am having a problem with my eating habits. Though i don't drink alcohol. I have also stopped the weight loss for the most part and i am only 6 months out. I am struggling. Which is why i am here. PSST....does anyone have a little willpower they can lend? Ok. I know that i have to have this to succeed and i am working on it. I guess it all depends on how bad you want this huh? Not sure if i am convincing you or myself. But, anyway...you are not alone.

Studies have been done that show a very large percent of gastirc bypass patients turn to alcohol for their drug of choice.

Go back to the basics.... No drinking booze, don't drink just before your meals or for an hour after..keep to small portion of the right foods and no snacking. Planned snacks are fine, but not the grazing.

Identifying that you want to do something different is half the battle. Little changes make big changes in our results.
