Default I Finally Made It1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mY surgery is scheduled for Jan 16th and I can't believe it. I don't know whether to shout out in glee or cry (maybe a little of both would be appropriate.) I am so nervous and wish I had kept up on this forum more often so I felt closer so you guys, Thanks, everyone for your prayers and advice on just hanging in there, I highly credit Kelli and Walt Lindstrum for my success cause without them I would still be fighting with apppeals. If you ever need great lawyers just let me know, My only concern is pain control as I have a very low tolerance for pain and am a real wuss. Any body else had that experience and how did it turn out. I asked for a post op buddy but don't know how about getting one. Also I want to start on the protein liquid powder tomorrow anyone have any ideas on which one is the best. So many questions/// Those of you who wouldn/t mind taking a neewbie under your wing I really would appreciate it. I know I will hwave a billion questions. I am a nurse here at Pomerado Hospital where I will have the surgery done and I have heard there are several of you out there and I would love to hear from you. k Again, thanks for tehe prayers and good wishes For those of you out there who used to be in my place. I really understand. Just do'nt give up no matter how bleak it looks at times. God has a plan for each and everyone of us.

Love,
Jessica

I was thinking the same thing....Oct 16th is a long ways off! Jan 16th would be much more reason to celebrate! lol! Congrats either way! Keep us posted!

Wow congrats Jessica. Pomerado's waiting list is that long? Everyone is welcome here. Great to have you aboard. Don't hesitate to ask whatever questions or concerns you might have. I know this might be a little off but is there a Nurse there names Melissa? I went to nursing school with her and haven't seen her since graduation. About the protein drinks. You kind of have to find one that works for you. Best advice don't buy to much of one thing. Because you like it pre-op you might not like it post-op.

Congrats on getting a date! Glad it's January and not October!

As for the pain, I am a wuss when it comes to pain and it really wasn't that bad. Take a comfy pillow with you to hold on your tummy when you cough. That helped me a lot! I used my pain pump while I had it, but the nurse said that I didn't really use it as much as some do. I was surprised.

Protein is a personal thing. Order some samples, bariatriceating.com has a sampler pack that you can order that is great! Of course, remember that your tastes may change after surgery. I found that out the hard way! I ordered a big jug of Fuzzy Navel Nectar protein powder. I liked it at first, but now it makes me gag. Of course, several of the protein powders make me gag. I have had luck with the Profect protein vials, 25g in 2.9 oz! Also, lots of people like the AchievOne ready to drink coffee drinks. I haven't tried them yet, but will soon! Good luck!
