I'm Always Cold
Hi . Im Just Wondering If This Ever Gets Better Over Time. Before Surgery I Was Very Warm All The Time. And Now I Am Cold All The Time. It Cant Be Because Im Losing My Insulation Either Cuz I Was Cold Right After I Came Home From The Hospital Before I Even Lost Any Weight. I Actually Gained Weight In Hospital. I Know 1 Person In Our Family Who Had This Surgery And She Says She Is Still Cold Alot. But Im Wondering If I Have A Chance At Being Normal Again. And Maybe It Depends On The Person.

Yes, I was freezing when I came home from the hospital! I cranked that heat up every chance I got! I attributed it to the lack of calories in the beginning. It did get better for me once I started eating more. I still am colder than I was before, but from what I've heard from others on here, that's pretty normal. Hopefully it'll get better for you once you up your calorie intake.

Have you been taking all of your iron? Anemia can cause you to be cold a lot. Might be something to look into. Until then... I am send warm thoughts your way!

As my doc says "you have no padding left" going from a body fat of 45 to a normal of 20 cuts out the insulation properties....but now I can wear those cute sweaters and such!

All the fluids that we are drinking has a lot to do with it especially if you are drinking cold water which is what I do. I have to have ice in everything, even in this cold December weather.

I am always cold as well. My iron levels are fine, and my doc says the same thing as Marie's - no more padding and insulation left I'll take being cold over having paddiing any old time!!

I am always cold too. I have been cold ever since I came home from the hospital ( a year ago). I have to sleep with flannel pj's and a heated blanket. I am so cold that I can't feel my fingers or feet. My doctor also told me that it's because I lost all that weight.

Me too...
Except now that I am hitting the menaupause (sp?) trail I am cold one minute and hot the next. I have to make sure I dress in layers so when I get hot I can take off the top layer then put it back on when I get cold again...
