Default Getting prepared for hair loss

I was wondering when I might experience the starting of hair loss. When did you first notice significant hair loss?

For me it started at about 4 1/2 months and went for until my 8th or 9th month. Now it's slowed down but it's much thinner than it was. It's starting to grow back so I have all these short little spikes that stick straight up in the air!

I Had My Surgery Just Before You On 10/10/06 And I Am Noticeing My Hair Starting To Thin Already. I Know I Dont Get In All My Protein I Should But I Guess From What I Heard On Here That Doesnt Matter . I Do Take Biotin To Help This But I Dont Think You Can Totally Stop It. Gl.

Judy, I started at about 3 months out and it is just starting to stop. Some days I don't have hardly any and other days its a bit more. Dr Baker has a paper with a list of vitamins to take that may help slow it down. I took them for the 30 days that they recommended but really didn't see much of a difference. Some of that may be that my PCP explained that it usually takes months to see anything effect your hair follicles. That is partially why we don't see the hair falling out until several months after the surgery. The most important thing on the list, according to Todd is the Flax seed oil. So, if you would want to start that first. I can get the list or you can get it from Dr Baker.

Well gotta go.

Beth

Mine started at 4 months, peaked at about 6-7 and by 10 months stopped. I took all the protein I was supposed to get and then some as well as supplements. I still lost it. No one noticed but my hairdresser.

I noticed right away- I think the initial hair loss was from the anesesthia- or trauma from the actual surgery. Mine has just slowed down in the past few months. I lost quite a bit of thickness. I have not noticed any regrowth.

I'd say it was at about 3 months, eight weeks later and I'm still getting over it. But hopefully it will stop, it seems to have slowed a bit at least. Only benefit, its easier to do!!!

I have sooooo much hair and it is sooooo thick, that I am actually looking forward to the loss. Sounds crazy, but I am. I loose handfuls everyday naturally, but it makse no difference to me.

Mine really started to fall out at about 2 months. I had short but extremely thick hair so i wasn't worried about it. I'm 6 months out and its still coming out. I have a few little bald spots here and there that i keep covered and they are not noticable to others. But my hair is definatley alot thinner. Especially on top. I had to choose a different hair style. Short and choppy works for me.
