I've been walking 3X a day since I got home on Friday and the pain has considerably lessened. I only take the pain medicine - Lortab - at night before I go to sleep because it's hard to go to sleep on my back.

It doesn't seem to be working out. For 3 nights now I wake up about an hour after I have taken it having severe hot flashes. My neck feels like it is on fire!
It then proceeds to keep me up the rest of the night.

I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this? Should I blame the medicine? Or is it the surgery and my body is getting used to it?

I'd call your doctor. The burning neck might be something to be concerned about.
