Default 7 yrs waiting and finally post op!

Hello guys its sooooooo great to be back here, as i previously mentione din my "introduce yourself" post i am already registered but my journey was so long i had to take a break from the forum as i was going stir crazy! i tried again to get back in when i got my surgery date but because i had changed isp`s and the registered email address no longer worked,i couldnt get in.So here i am phew.
I had my surgery on 13th dec 2006 a laparoscopic bypass by a fab team at Luton in England.I had to travel some 4 hours from home but it is not a very widespread surgery here in U.K so there are only 3 hospitals which offer it.
I had a student nurse who asked me if she could accompany me to watch the sugery with me,a delightful 19yr old slip of a girl,and she came to see me when i came out of the HDU{High dependancy unit} where i was for a night and a day following surgery.She was so excited and said it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen.The thing that really surprised her was the care i was given during the surgery,she said she had never seen anything like it,once i was aneasthatised and stabilised she said they spent about an HOUR getting me perfectly positioned and comfy alleviating any pressure points etc!!and after 7 hours including 1 1/2 each side of surgery for anasthesia and 4 hrs op i awoke{AMAZED I WAS STILL ALIVE}i then was transferred on a regular ward on thursday and pretty much thrown in the deep end alone,no nurses were familiar with the surgery so the only time i got to ask any niggling questions was when my consultant popped his head in each morning.I had a really low moment when i received a call from a so-called friend on the day following surgery telling me that she met with an old friend who had had a bypass and she really regretted it and her life is a misery!!!!! i came of the phone distraught and had no-one to turn to,i grabbed my drip and got out of bed and went to the nurses station and told them,they offered reassurance and said she was probably jealous and to ignore her, which i knew was right but i was feeling so queasy and weak it really got to me.Needless to say this freind is off my xmas card list hehe.So here i am , i had seven small incisions on my tummy,a few are a bit weepy so if anybody can offer any advise on how to deal with this i would really appreciate it?
.As for fluids etc , here we are not allowed to have any water until the 3rd day{drips only for fluid}and mouth swabs which are dipped in the pink fluid you get at the dentist {yuk} so on the friday i had sips of water,and hellish burping which my cons. said was my stomach starting to work again.On saturday i had clear chicken soup and boy was that good for the soul,about 6 spoonfulls and that was enough,followed by some refreshing orange jelly,just a couple of small spoonfulls.I sat in the chair waiting for some adverse reaction,but nothing came[except burping lol}

I came home on saturday ,had the arduous drive home and squeezed my 4 kids to death {well almost}my surgery was for them,as im a single mum and i have no family so i wanna be around for a long time yet!
Oh btw i am approx 135k and my consultant says i should lose between half my excess weight and 10 st i would be happy with that,i will listen to my body and see how it goes.

Default Tumour?cyst? found

Whilst having my bypass the surgeons found a very large cyst or tumour on my left ovary.They said had i been thin you would have been able to see it.So in many ways the surgery was doubly potnetially lifesaving.
They took some samples of it,and they said they would be sending results to my gp.I have not heard yet but surgery was on 13th dec.
Im gobsmacked that they even found it, i mean they were operating laparoscopically much higher up? but im glad they did.
Now i feel like im on a knife edge,and worried sick for my kids, being a single mum and not having any family.
Has anyone had a sim. experience?
Im so scared.
