Default Silly & Emotional WOW Moment

When it rains it pours - seems like everyone is having wow moments this week, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon:

I know I have lost a lot of weight. I know my pant size has gone from a 28 to a 10, I know DH can wrap his arms all the way around me and then some, I know I can do things at the gym I couldn't fathom doing before, I know the towel fits all the way around me, I know my robe doesn't split open below the belt anymore, and I know I can tie my tennis shoes in the middle with no problem. I KNOW these things, and yet when I look at a naked me in the mirror, I still see the 272 pound Shamu staring right back at me with a 9 inch scar running from breastbone to belly botton.

Our size 8 receptionist came in yesterday with her size 12 fitted Ann Taylor jacket (okay so the has huge tatas), and she let one of my 100 pound co-workers wear it because she was cold. I asked out of curiosity if I could see it it fit...and it did...perfectly!!!!

To be there wearing a piece of clothing that my small co-workers also wear snapped me into reality so fast that it made me cry. Right there on the spot I looked like Tammy Faye Bakker with the mascara running down mt face!!! I am one of THEM...the (I can't bring myself to say skinny b/c I don't feel like that) thinner people of the world really just took my breath away and brought me to tears (and, no, I am not PMSing!).

Just thought I would share here because no one else really will understand that joy but you - my TT family!!

That is a WOW moment! Made me a little emotional reading it. You've done amazing...and should be so proud of yourself. Funny how you still see yourself as heavy. You are so cute!

Whitney, I know I said this at Rain's party, but girl you blew me away. You are so stunning. I am so proud of you. Keep it up.
I had a little WOW moment myself. I went to the mall the other day and went into the Bebe store. I have never fathomed stepping foot in a store like that. I had 3 girls basically holding my hand taking me around the store to try stuff on. That has never happened to me before. A high end retail store fighting over me. It was so kewl. It made me feel special in a silly kind of way. I did not buy anything because I didn't like the way anything fit that I did try on. But when I left there I felt snobish because I knew has I been my "fat" self in there, they wouldn't have wasted a breath on me.
