Default Three weeks out~so glad I found this site!

Had surgery on 10/24 ~ tomorrow will be three weeks ~ dropped 20 pounds the first two ~ and this week NOTHING! Is this NORMAL??? Started walking~ did a mile today ~ feel great ` eating protein ~ following the plan ~ can someone tell me if this is normal? I am in fear that this, like all other diets, will fail!!! Any advice appreciated!!!

It's perfectly normal to stall at your point. Your body is screaming......"Wooooo, wait a minute, we are starving here"!!!! and it switches into starvation mode and hangs on to every ounce it can for a bit until it realizes that it's okay to let go because there is still something being taken in and the situation is not as bad as it seemed. The stall may last a couple of weeks, mine did. BUTTTTT when is the last time you lost 20 pounds in two weeks on a regular diet? Give your body a chance to reset itself and you will be on your way again. BTW, welcome to the forum family!

The most common place to stall. I think ALL of us did. Don't worry...keep on going and it will all even out in the end. Welcome to the forum

My surgery was 10/23 and I know exactly what you mean! I had lost 20.5 by my one week post op appointment, then nothing for the next whole week. I think I've dropped 4-5 lbs since last Thursday, so that's encouraging. I'm just focusing on doing everything I should be and waiting it out. I just can't figure out how on earth to get 600-900 calories per day (per my dietitian) right now.

Good luck and keep your chin up, it'll start coming off again soon!!

Click on USER CP on the left side of the toolbar on top.
Click on MY SIGNATURE on left side of page at the top of the box.
Type message you want to show in gray box in center of the page.
Click SAVE SIGNATURE at the bottom of the gray box.

Waaaaalaaaaaaa, you have a sig!

You can play with the options in the gray box to make some things bold or different shapes and colors.

LOL! Thanks, guys, I was juuuust about to start whining that I hadn't lost anything in a week (I'm 4 wks out tomorrow) after losing that first 30 lbs in 25 days. I just needed to "see" you guys "say" it was normal, even though I logically know it is. And to be fair, I don't know if I'm eating well enough (on schedule, enough at each sitting, etc) or exercising enough. That's my goal for the week: exercise!

:-)
