I'm so happy you found the cause of your pain. I am going for a swallow test on Saturday and I am meeting with my surgeon next Wednesday to go over the results of the test. I have been feeling the same pains on and off. I am very ready to find the reason for the pain and move on. How will they take care of the hernia? Will they have to remove it surgically? Hopefully the process will not be too involved. I don't think this is what I have, because I had my surgery lap not open. Ill keep you posted on what happens.

I also had mine Laproscopic, but I have had other surgeries prior, such as hysterectomy, 2 c-sections, and gallbladder. The Hernia they will have to do surgery to repair it. UGH!!! I just don't know if that is the only thing going on, I will be glad to talk to my GB surgeon Friday. I do have a call into him now. Last nite the pain got bad again and I was afraid I would have to go to the emergency room. Good luck on your testing.. and results..

Ashley-I hope they discover the cause of your problems soon. Living in pain is not a way to live.
Audean - When will they be doing surgery on the hernia? My husband has one in the groin area and the pain comes and goes as it pops in and out of the tear. Sometimes it's weeks of pain, sometimes only a day. It's best to get it fixed as soon as possible though, especially if it's intestinal. Keep us posted, okay?

Yeah he did have quite a bit of pain. Sometimes it was so bad he was doubled over in agony. It depended on how far out it popped. His didn't buldge where you could see it either and the Dr. told him it was only a small tear where the muscle was pushing through. Somehow it reversed and popped back to where it's supposed to be, and stopped hurting. Now we have to wait until it hurts him again, so they will be able to locate it in order to fix the tear...they did say it was a really small tear. I figured it would be huge considering the amount of pain it caused him! So yeah, it sounds the same as you... (I gave him my meds from Post-op to combat the pain...it was that bad!)

A lot of those symptoms sound a lot like my bowel obstruction, which would be very similar to a strangulated hernia--blocked bowel is blocked bowel, no matter what blocks it. Don't play games with it--I am barely living proof that they're no bueno!!

What was blocking your bowel ?? adhesions ? What was your symtoms ? I have an appt. with my gastric bypass surgeon on Friday morning - as soon as he can get me in to have the hernia fixed I will be going in. I will feel better having him do the surgery. Although I dread the thought of more Surgery....

Dr. Potts said I had the worst case of adhesions he has ever seen in his life. They just wrapped themselves around my bowel and squeezed it off. Some of my intestines were absolutely fused together and could not be separated.

Hi Donna,
I was just wondering if you had any symptoms before hand. I am trying to see if I can figure anything out with whats going on with me. I was having bad stomach aches and still am, but they are not so consistent. The thing that i was wondering is if you were constipated before this all happened. This maybe tmi, but i was going back and forth with constipation nd diarrhea, but i haven't been able to go for a week. I meet with the Dr on Tuesday, so hopefully i will have gone by then. Just wondering if you might be able to shed a little light.
Thank you!
