Default Splenda --- YUCK!

Has anyone else noticed that everything you buy that is sugar free has Splenda in it? I don't know about you guys but for me it is just TOO sweet and this is coming from the girl who used to have a major sweet tooth. Does anyone know of any sugar free products that don't have Splenda in them?

Thanks,
Jenna

Everyone i know loves Splenda but i think it is the most disgusting thing ever... that aftertaste is horrendus.
I (fortunatly? unfortunatly?) dont have any issues with sugar/dumping so i still use regular sugar in anything i make/need that requires sugar or a sugar type substitute. Thankfully my taste for sweet has all but disappeared... i wish my salt craving would too

There are other products out there with aspertame, but if you find Splenda has an aftertaste, then you might not like aspetame. Is there any way that you can water down the product you are using with Splenda? It really is the best artificial sweetner you can use. I too don't like sweet things, but I can handle it.

I'm wondering if your taste buds just changed. I know mine did some. What I have to avoid are the sugar alcohols.....so I'm better sticking to the Splenda.

There is a natural sweetener called stevia...I know nothing about it, how it reacts with us etc. but one of my friends swears by it. She is not a GBP patient.

And Stevia is supposed to be the most healthy for you!!!!! No damage done like scientific studies indicate that aspertame and splenda do.

Hey - you talking trash about my new best friend!

I'm sorry you hate it - I don't know what I'd do without it!

I used Stevia before surgery - it has an "herby" taste. I can't explain it. It only worked in certain foods for me. You only use a few drops. You an find it at health food stores.

Good luck! And I do use equal if I'm in trouble - but that tastes too strong to me. We're all different!

Actually, I'm a sweet-n-low kinda person. They all suck next to "real" sugar, so I just get the cheap stuff! LOL

Robin uses Stevia (see thread below regarding Stevia vs. Splenda). You can get it at Henry's.

Splenda...

I personally love Splenda...I want to marry it.
