Wearing DH's jeans today
Oh - does this feel sexy or what?
We left the house early today, but my only pair of jeans that fit at all were in the dryer. So I joked with DH, "Maybe I'll wear yours" he laughed and we both said, "They'll never fit." DH has a cute little butt, so I was sure they'd never zip up, but I put them on and they are perfect! I was so inspired, I went to buy new jeans. (My 22s are pretty darn loose) So I went into Old Navy and tried the 18s - they fit just fine but I hated them. I am not a low rise person, nor a boot leg person and what is with the pre-manufactured "flaws"?
Where does a grown up woman buy jeans? I mean, if I'm in an 18, GAP here only goes up to 14 so I can't get those yet, and I don't want to spend a lot of money for jeans I'll only wear for two or three months.
Any ideas? Maybe I should order online - I do wear a lot of LL Bean stuff. I loved them because they went up to 3X and I could always look professional wearing that stuff and it fit so nicely.
Things are moving! And my husband got to joke all day about me getting into his pants.

How about Consignment, or even WalMart? You could get cheap jeans there. I can't wait to get back into a pair of cute jeans..

Congratulations! It is a great feeling. I am wearing my hubby's sweatshirt today and it is big on me! He wishes I was "in" his pants though.

Thrift shops. Thrift shops. Any place that sells Gloria Vanderbilt or Liz Claiborne. Her shop for more generously sized women is Elizabeth. But I only buy thrift shop jeans. Last week I went to Salvation Army and bought a size 4 Bleu Express (Gap), Liz Claiborne, and Levi 501's (the button ones.) The price was $6.50 a pair, but if you bought 2, the 3rd was free. So I got 3 pairs for $13.
They're all broken in, they don't sing "NEW JEANS" as much as the stiff ones, and you can't beat the price.
I'm toying with the idea of becoming a personal shopper. I have excellent taste, know some good places, and can size up whether something will fit really well. If anyone would like to give me a try, just pm me with what you would like me to look for.

Lee Riders at Wal-Mart
I think they call them "natural waist" or "natural fit" for the ones that don't leave your panni draping over. Hate low-riders. I think I had about 15 minutes in my life when I was 19 years old that I could wear what we used to call "hip-hugger" jeans or the super short shorts we called "hot pants." Remember those? Too funny.

My new best friend is the thrift shop. Don't know if you saw my thread about my cool bargain. I found a formal gown for $7.50 !!!
It is a cool feeling to get into hubby's clothes. I was so excited when I went to try on one of my husbands football jersey's, it not only fit, but was huge on me!!! I might just wear it for him when he gets home from sea! (sorry, I know I always drift off to left field a bit and give too much info!!! )

It has been several years since I've even walked into Wal-mart. I'm a huge union fanatic (raised by a teamster - what are you going to do) but I might have to sneak in there in diguise to get the jeans. I have this feeling that if I go in there, I'll get caught on the security cameras and next thing you know, my mom will be un-inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner!
I will try there though. Lee jeans always fit me so nicely - until they didn't fit at all!
I already looked at the consignment shop and they have no jeans at all! The salvation army store here is horrible - smells bad - people there smell bad. I may try the good will though - they are better but never had much selection in plus sizes. I'll have to see.
