when did you eat fruit?
When did you all start eating fruit? I have been craving fruit for awhile, but know I am only allowed proteins, I just wonder when everyones doctor let them start fruit?

I ate it today (just short of 2 weeks post op) and it went down absolutely fine. My doc said to give it a go so I did and boy am I glad i did. I had a mandarin (you guys may call them satsumas) and an apple! Just made sure I didn't swallow the white rindy stuff on the mandarin.

I added in pureed peaches after about 2 weeks post-op - not much- but a little every other day or so - helped with the constipation and provided a little variety.

My MD was at 12 weeks. Not because of an inability to digest them, but he wanted us to eat our protein and it was 12 weeks before we have room for anything else.

I ate the insides of 2 grapes or 2 raspberries at about 5-6 weeks. Very slow and no skins. Of course, that was after introducing veggies and meats. I had applesauce on week 2.

It was 8 weeks out for me. It was so refreshing to get the juice out of the fruit(oranges and pineapple) Start with a tender fruit or canned is good. The pineapple went down like a dream for me when out of a can, but still can't eat a fresh cut piece. Good luck

I add frozen strawberries, peaches, or mangos to my protein drink-and have been all along. YUM-I did try an apple the other day and it made my dentures ache-so that's not good.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.
