Default I made it!

Hi all this is CINDYLU and just thought I would let you all know that I made it through surgery last Tuesday. THANK GOD FOR EPIDURALS! haha. My husband was quite impressed with my ablilities he told everyone "you would never know she just had major surgery" that made me proud. I stayed the first night in ICU and had my co-workers take care of me, so you know I had to show them what a good patient I could be. They were impressed Dr. Bailey told me "you should go home saturday but I'll let you go home a day early since you're a nurse" I was like wait a minute I'm a mom too. I honestly didin't want to see what my house looked like when I got home.
Sure enough when I got home I was not happy. It wasn't a disaster, I just want things done my way and they weren't--I have slowly been letting go of the control issues but it is difficult. You would be impressed with my progress though. Anyway, I have done things since I have been home that I am not supposed to..... my MIL came over and used my bathroom and I was humiliated because of the way it looked, not that she would care, but still I went in there after she left and cleaned it . Boy did I regret that, I was beat.
What kind of pain control were you guys sent home on? My sister in law had a Duragesic patch. I had some NASTY liquid Lortab. It took me ten minutes to take that stuff it was so awful.

Loritab didnt do squat for me ... unless I chugged a double dose ... or maybe I just got spoiled by the hospital morphine pump....

When I went home-I couldn't afford the medicine the Dr. prescribed, so I took liquid tylenol. It worked ok.

NASTY liquid Lortab
I agree quite discusting, but like Alleusion said the "high" off that stuff! Yikes I was scared I was getting addicted to it, it was like candy! Everything would go wonky and I was walking around like "weeee, I likkkkke this stuuuffff" hahaha I tried to get my surgeon to give me some instead of the tablets this time lol...No such luck though hahahaha

And BTW get some rest and quit cleaning! You're as bad as me! Cleaning the toilets the day I got home from my hernia and TT surgery I was so discusted lol
