Default Bad Taste

I have a question????? I am 2 1/2 weeks out and had and have a terrible taste in my mouth. Also NOTHING tastes the same, and nothing tastes good.
I'm hoping that this will fade into the sunset, but for the time being it's terrible. Am I normal??????

yep, totally normal. It's from the ketosis that goes on. It will get better, promise.

Default Take it as a sign of success

Yep, it's ketosis - means your body's burning fat at a very high rate. It's a sign of your surgery's success. Nothing but time took it away for me, as I was scared to chew gum for quite a while. It does go away when your body gets more in balance.

Red face

Me too!!!!!!! Thought I was going mad!

Had a really bad moment yesterday - I was addicted to diet coke before the op and gave in last night - had one sip of very very flat diet coke (stirred all the gas out!) and it tasted awful!!!!!!!!!!

Everything I eat tastes horrible except for grapes - anyone know if they are ok for you? I know they are quite high in natural sugars but natural sugars shouldn't make you dump should they?

I still wake up with the taste in my mouth the odd time and 9½ weeks out. I find if I haven't eaten enough the day before to cover the activity I'm doing I'll wake up the next morning with it.

The only consolation I have is I know there's enough of me at the moment to function and at the stage your at its probably the same

That seems to be a personal thing. I have never dumped on fruits, dairy and such. Be careful of the skins when you try them though. Early out, and still now I often spit them out if they don't chew well. I also went through the phases early out where only a few food items even sounded good. It gets better!
