Arrow Say A Prayer

Hello Family,

Well I'm on my way back to the hospital. It seems that I have pancreatitis (sp?). I'll be NPO (nothing by mouth) for two days and they are going to do an uldtrasound. If I have any gall stones they are going to remove them.

I went to the ER near my home last night, but I signed myself out AMA (against medical advice) b/c I thought they were nuts. I faxed my lab reports to my surgeon today and he said "get in here right away". I guess they were not nuts after all.

Anyway, I don't feel that bad, just a little sore. Better safe than sorry though.

I'll keep in touch when I return.

Talking I'm Back

Hello Dear Family,

God is truly awesome and worthy to be praised!!!

Well, two days turned into four, but I'm back now. I'm glad I did go to the hospital where my surgeons were. They took great care of me. The Dr.s were all amazed because although my enzyme numbers were high, I had none of the symptoms consistant with pancreatitis.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. You are truly wonderful!!

I was on an IV and nothing by mouth for four days and didn't drop an ounce.
I'm okay with that because I know it's a process.

The reason I signed myself out of the first hospital was because after I told him that I just had a Gastric Bypass, he asked me to drink two bottles of dye for a cat-scan. I said to him "Sir, there is no way I can drink two bottles of dye, I just had surgery two weeks ago and I can't even drink a cup of water."
That's when I thought he was nuts and I was out of there.

All of my test came back negative, so the Dr.s are still baffled. They are not sure what is causing my levels to go up.

I'm getting along a little better now. I will post more as soon as I get some more energy. I'm lacking lots of that.

I am so glad to see that you are feeling a little better and stronger I hope. All those IV fluids will bloat you up something awful. You'll start dropping again as soon as you get those fluids out of your system. Don't worry about the weight loss right now, you need to worry about you and what you need to do to remain healthy..

Remember, since you were in the hospital for so long and even if you don't feel like it right now, it is imparative that you get up and walk every hour or so. You are still at risk of developing a blood clot my friend.. so don't chance it.. we need ya here!!!!! So get walkin..
