Default Need a good protein calculator web site!

Does anyone know of a good reference site for us to put in a food and find out the protein count on it? I was using fitday.com but it is not always that handy or it does not list just a plain this or that.

I am having a time with this package of shrimp I bought as it says 3 oz is 18g. WELLL how the heck many is 3 oz.

How do I figure this out? Hopefully someone out there knows a site that converts things or that lists better.

Fitday.com says a large shrimp is like 1.52 g... well these are jumbo which I think are a little larger. The meat guy thought 3 oz was 4 to 5 shrimp. MAN this is a pain but I really am trying SOOOO hard to get in the right amount of protein in a day. It is tuff!

Julie, try caloriesperhour.com. It will total your servings and total protein for what ever you tell it. Its kinda cool.
Good luck in your protein quest.........

When I use fitday, I actually weigh my food and use the exact weights in their calculations. A little obcessive, but it keeps me on track.

Fitday will allow you to modify the food on most items to per serving, cup, individual ect......if it doesn't allow it, I weigh it out and then modify the food on fitday to meet my needs...then I can recall it every time I have it.

Default Here is another site

www.sparkpeople.com

It's like fitday but it also gives you exercises , you can track your food, water, exercise and gives you some interesting information.
