Default A mistaken identity "WOW" moment

Well I guess it was bound to happen eventually but it kind of made me smile. It's happened 3 times now in the past 2 weeks that a cashier has questioned if my picture on my license was really me when I presented it for ID. I knew I was looking different but I didn't know it was that different!

Maybe its time for some new ID pictures.

Beth~

I cringe when I am asked for my ID...like they won't think it's me.

Thank God I don't write checks anymore.

I know what you mean, Van. So far they haven't given me an argument after I tell them I've lost a lot of weight. They just tell me how much different I look and congratulate me on my weight loss. I know people at work are telling me its past time for me to go and get a new work ID. I've thought about it but I just don't feel like spending my money on that! I would rather buy clothes! *l*

This happened to me at Wal Mart (El Cajon store) a while back. I had just spent almost $200 there the day before, (check) and had no problem. I went to the same store the next day and they would not let me write a check for $35 because it did not look like me on my license. I had the manager called and and wound up putting it on my ATM card because she would not accept a check without "proper" ID. Well, needless to say that was the last time I went into that particular Wal Mart. If she had taken 2 seconds to look beyond the fat face on my drivers license she would have been able to tell it was me, the features are the same. I lost my DL a couple weeks later and had to get a new one anyway but it really pi$$ed me off at the time. They see a fat face and suddenly you are persona non grata......oh well, that was there loss, the La Mesa Wally World loves me!! Thank goodness I live in an area where there are 5 Wal Marts within a 20 minute drive!

It's flattering the first time or two it happens then it is just a pain in the butt!

CONGRATS ON YOUR MISTAKEN IDENTITY!! BUT MORE THAN THAT, CONGRATS THAT YOU ACTUALLY GOT SOMEONE TO CHECK YOUR ID!! THESE DAYS WITH IDENTITY THEFT AT THE LEVEL IT IS, I GET SO TICKED OFF BECAUSE I DON'T GET THE QUESTION.... CAN I SEE YOUR ID. THE FUNNY THING IS TOO, WHEN THEY DO ASK TO SEE MY ID, I LOOK NOTHING LIKE IT. MY HAIR CHANGES LIKE EVERY WEEK. I HAVE MY DL WITH DARK AUBURN HAIR AND MY MILITARY ID WITH BRIGHT BLONDE. MY FACE LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TOO. THEY LOOK AT IT AND ACT LIKE IT LOOKS JUST LIKE ME. IT IS SUCH A CRACK UP, BUT THEN FRUSTRATING TOO.

NOT TOO LONG AGO ON THE BASE WE USED TO BE AT, A WOMAN WAS TRYING TO GET ON TO BASE WITH HER ID (HER PICTURE WAS FROM BEFORE GBS) THEY WOULDN'T LET HER ON, SAYING IT DIDN'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE HER ON THE CARD. SHE HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE FROM WORK ID HER AT THE GATE FOR THE GUARD AND THEN ESSCORT HER ON BASE. WHEN TOLD THE STORY I WAS THINKING THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN ANYWHERE ELSE, GUESS IT DOES HUH?

LOL I feel ya! My ID has a nice round plump face from 2 years ago and they don't think it's me. But i think in a weird way it's a compliment so enjoy it!

It is a compliment at your stage of the game. When you get further out it is just a pain in the butt! I loved it the first few times it happened but it gets old fast!

I was carded in Vegas and when the person didn't do a double take I was like "what the hell".... I didn't necessarily want them to comment on my weight loss...but a double take would have been nice!!

Default The comment I get is...

Wow, you had hair.

Some people tell me that I don't look that much different aside from my hair...and I think...they must be blind. My face was so poofy...I looked like a chipmunk...or like I had cheeks stuffed with meatballs.
