Default How long out of work?

Picking a date for surgery, trying to figure out how long I may be out of work. I know that none of us has a cystal ball, however, barring any complications, whats the earliest time for getting back. My job is more mental than physical, as I am a sales manager at a dealership, so all I need to be is comfortable, and be able to smile.

2 weeks - and I was fine. My boss is a nazi and no one else does my job when I am gone for too long. Tired but sitting at a desk for most of the day. Good luck with everything.

Hi and welcome to the forum !!

Well I had complications so have been out for 3 months. But my daughter who had it done one month after me was was out for a month, but could have been back to work after 2 weeks (took advantage of being able to take the extra time off)

I have met some at my support group that was only out for a week.

Yep, I would have been fine going back at 2 weeks (this is after having the surgery LAP)....but I stayed out for 4 weeks...after I got back to hell (I mean work) I wished that I would have stayed out 6 weeks.

Appreciate the replies. My doc said that it could be as quick as 10 days, but it is all contingent on how I feel. So we will take it one day at a time.

I asked the same thing...I have three kids and was worried about who would care for them while I recovered. Point is, I figured on the two weeks too! Sadly, I drew the short straw and got Strictures. I have had it stretched 5x already and been in the hospital 3 of those times for dehydration.

My point is, that no matter what you think will happen, be prepared for anything.

I am two and a half weeks out and wouldnt really be up to a full day at work myself, everyone is different. If your job is physical I would say 3 to four weeks would be more realistic. I dont have any pain as such but I dont have a real lot of energy either

I had laparascopic surgery and was back in 2 weeks to my desk job. My energy was a little low at the end of the day, but it was fine.
