You are absolutely right that the phosphorus issue is with anyone who drinks soda. What I was driving at is with GBP surgery, you are prone to osteoporosis due to poor absorption of calcium from the diet as well as loss of body mass. Being obese was actually protective to bone density. I don't know about your MD, but we have to get a bone densitometry done every 6 months for the first two years and then annually there after. So my point was we are at an even higher risk then the general population because of the surgery.
I admire your honesty in the response about drinking it a little less.
We all have our vices as I am drinking 36 ounces of decaf coffee.
