Default Trips to the ER are not nice..

So yesterday I had to be sent to the ER, orders from my doctor.. I was severely dehydrated so I had to be hooked up to a IV drip.. which was no fun at all. It took some 10 hours for that bag to be over with! I got the blood work the X-rays.. it was just not a good day at all. I did however tell my doctor a week ago I got major cramps when sipping water.. I guess he thought it would pass and it has not. So.. I am not getting enough water in... then I started to get sick when I tried to eat. They still do not know what is causing the cramps when drinking but when I find out I will let you know. At least I am home now and do not have to lay in that uncomfy bed in the ER room.. blah. Things will look up.. right?

April:
Lots of weird things happen when you don't get enough water in. But I know it's hard to get all that *(&)_$% water in!

Good luck - feel better!

Eat ice chips! That is what I do.....all day long...... I had a stricture and that is all that kept me going. For some reason I could eat the ice and it didn't hurt for that water to go down my throat, but to even trickle water I was sipping on would hurt. Go figure.... Anyway, Sonic Drive-Thru will sell the good small ice by the bags for a little over $1. I get one every other day because I eat an 8 lb bag that often. I take a large styrofoam cup and plastic spoon with me everywhere, even into stores. LOL People look at me weird, but I don't care. It's the best way to get my fluids in. I hope you feel better soon. You definitely don't want to go back to the hospital, which is what will happen if you don't get something in, so take care.

Default Hydration

Try eating SF Popsicles, flavored no-cal waters , caffeine free tea, SF jello. Plain water was hard for me too.

HAve they checked for a stricture or an ulcer? Those two things can cause inabitlity to tolerate food and water fro an extended length of time.
