Default Protien

Ok, just had to share. Everyone has listened to me complain about not being able to eat enough protien. Well I think I solved my problem! I was at the store last night, actually craving an apple (I love granny smith apples) so I went to the diet foods section and found a EAS low carb bar called Caramel Apple. It has 220 cal and 21 grams of protien. The surgeon suggested that brand, so I tried one. Now I only was able to eat a little more than 1/4 of it for breakfast, but I think I can eat the whole thing throught the day.

Sorry, just a little excited I might actually get my protien in today without being miserable.

Jennifer,
I found another source of protein that's not too hard to take. The powders and pre-made shakes just make me gag...but if you like apple you might try this. Isopure zero Carb protein drink. It comes in a glass bottle 20 fl oz, it has 40 grams of protein. It's not thick or icky, goes down like Propel, and I have been starting my day with one-I didn't so much like the blueberry, but yesterday I had Apple~Melon, and today am having Pineapple~orange~banana. I'd give it a try if I were you. I'm feeling so much better since I've been getting it in first thing.

I tried those, I only found the Apple Melon and the Blueberry, the first one was great, when I tried to drink the second one, I couldn't keep them down. It seems like every thing I find with protien, actually makes me sick. But anything you have tried that you liked please let me know, I just keep trying stuff.

If you buy a cinnamon apple protein bar and put it in the microwave for a few seconds and eat it warm it tastes just like a pie from McDonald's. No Sh*t!

They have a ton of flavors at vitamin shoppe, grape, raspberry, strawberry, mango, punch, orange cream, passionfruit, along with the pineapple orange and apple melon I mentioned before , GNC had some too. I am approaching it as a form of medicine, I need it, at least for a base, for now, until I can eat meat and other forms of good protein. I'm not a big egg eater, so right now, I'm doing cheese, cottage cheese, refried beans, beans with weenies, and chili (I prefer the chili without beans).

Ok, I know it looks gross and I'm sure it can't be very good for me. But, Hormel canned chili without beans. To me it is rather mild tasting and then I add some cheese. It has worked great for me. I can't really do more than a bite or 2 egg, cottage cheese is a big no no, ricotta cheese only sits ok about every other day, if I eat too much I get sick. So my protien choices were getting smaller and smaller. Now it seems I'm starting to be able to eat more things again, like Tuna.

The Isopure makes me ill. Nasty tasting to me.
I drink AcheivOne and eat Stallone's protein pudding. Both at great ways to get in protein. Thank god.

The hormel without beans is the one that works for me too...I add cottage cheese, gross sounding, I know...or a lil sour cream and it keeps it from being too spicey. Eggs have made me ill the last 2 times I've tried.

Duckie,
It's so funny how we're all so different, the Stallone pudding grosses me out too. Maybe it's a dairy issue for me?
